| Parody Song Title: | "Starting the Movie For You" |
| Parody Written by: | Fitu Petaia |
A good-well theatre is all that we share
You've got your audience but they want you here
So i tried to think writing films on your list
Cause no other critic is gonna do
so i'm starting this movie for you
It's not very easy watching movies alone
My friends try and tell me to be the critic on my own
So i tried to not talk while people are watching
Cause i'd rather be home being crazy
cause starting the movie for you
You use to tell me we'd watch Hong Kong Phooey
That gives you the right to be free to go
You said for me to start the movie
Just until i come back
Cause thats what were action fantasy is
I've got to get better just a few hours more
Gonna get a 70's movie for us to watch
Cause to night is the night
For the violence is just not OK
Cause you'd be watching a action movie
Cause i'm starting this movie for you
Cause i'm starting this movie for you
Cause i'm starting this movie for you
Cause i'm starting this movie for you
Know that your one who gonna start movie
Cause to night is the night
Cause the movie is alright
Cause will be watching the MASH all night
Cause i'm starting this movie for you
Cause i'm starting this movie for you
Cause i'm starting this movie for you
You've got your audience but they want you here

I honestly don't know what else to say, Fitu. I know you said you'll try to write better, but you're still not even getting the basics right. To reiterate: 1) The pacing, where you're not using lines from the original, is mostly bad...really bad 2) You don't rhyme when you need to...for example, in verse 4, you rhymed "more" with "watch"...huh? You need to learn about rhymes, and how important they are. 3) This parody doesn't really make any sense. The lines seem to be thrown together randomly. I'm guessing this has something to do with watching movies, but mostly it's incoherent. I'm sorry to be so harsh, Fitu....but either you take absolutely no notice of the advice you've been given, or you just can't write parodies. I don't say these things to be mean, but you write so many parodies...and you MUST want feedback, or you wouldn't submit them...and I have to wonder what you get out of it. No vote, but if I did, 211
Well Kristof, i've just read this, and in fairness at least the # of syllables in the chorus match up with the OS's chorus, and two or 3 of the verse's lines rhyme, such as "night" and "alright" and "alone" and "own" so slight credit for that. I think a sensible vote IMHO would be 322
Technically you're correct, Jason....but as those rhymes are from the OS, you can't really give Fitu credit for them. My 8 year old niece can copy; doesn't make her a good writer. I'll concede that "Cause i'm starting this movie for you" fits with the OS, which is why I suggested 2 for pacing instead of 1.
Well i don't think im as bad as Tokusu Sentai Blessranger. I think my works are better than before. And whats the difference between Plagarism and a band doing a "cover" of someone elses song?
I wonder if anyone's noticed or is it just me? Without meaning any offence, Fitu, are you purposely doing this so your alter ego with the backwards name can diss you. Or is it actually someone else?
Well, Fitu, if your aim in life is to be "not as bad" as TSB, then you keep plugging away- I'm not stopping you. But It's not much of a goal, is it? To answer your question about the difference plagiarism and doing cover versions...you're pulling my leg, right? Artists who do cover versions get permission from the author, pay royalties, and never claim the song is theirs. I KNOW you have posted other authors' works on this site and claimed that they were yours, so unfortunately that makes you a PLAGIARIST, Fitu. Don't do it: it's not clever and you almost always get caught out.
Ok i won't plagiarise anymore.
Good. We are back from our Christmas break so we are watching you.
