As we all know by now, Ken Jennings has been defeated on "Jeopardy!" after amassing over 2½ million dollars over 74 games. He was beaten by a real-estate agent named Nancy Zerg after he screwed up on Final Jeopardy!. The other opponent on that show was a Minnesota college student named David who was a self-confessed "Trebekkie" and proved it by revealing his T-shirt during the interview. He did not play Final Jeopardy!, however, since his total was in the red. However, Nancy's reign as champion on "Jeopardy!" was to be short-lived as she lost the next night...
He was there to match his intellect
On national TV
Against a realtor and a college student
A self-styled "Trebekkie"
He was tense
He was nervous
I guess it just wasn't his night
Alex Trebek gave the answer
But he couldn't get that question ri-i-ight
(Chorus)
Ken lost on Jeopardy, baby
Ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh
Ken lost on Jeopardy, baby
Ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh
Well, we knew he was in trouble now
His winnings sorta shrank
'Cause he got the Daily Double now
And then his mind went blank
He took Funny Hats for 1600
The Daily Double again
Well, he gave up.
Johnny Gilbert
Just tell us now what he didn't win, yeah, yeah
(Chorus)
(Voice of Johnny Gilbert)
Well, folks, Ken lost! And let me tell you what he didn't win! A 20-volume set of the Encyclopaedia Britannica! A case of Turtle Wax and a year's supply of Rice-a-Roni, the San Francisco treat! But that's not all! You'll be glad to know that he did win over 2½ million bucks and that people will remember him for what he did here! But he doesn't get to come back tomorrow! He doesn't ever get a lousy copy of the computer game! But he was a humongous winner!
Don't know what he was thinking of
I guess he just wasn't that bright
But I sure hope he don't show up
Next weekend on The Price Is Ri-i-ight
(chorus)
Ken lost on Jeopardy, baby
