OK, how many times have you posted your parody at night, only to wake up the next day with some great new subs, words or lines for it? Or something that seemed really funny the night before when you submitted suddenly looks kind of stupid in the morning? Or wait until morning and miss posting with the new entries because they went out a little earlier and you were tweaking your parody just a bit before submitting? My favorite is when I wait until morning, run out of time while tweaking because the new entries post a little early but I don’t know I ran out of time until after I submit it. This is especially annoying when you do that on a Friday. Now it not only didn’t get posted with the new entries, you can’t do any more tweaking either. It just sits in there all weekend doing nothing, lol. All of these things have happened to me one time or another. Oh well, you just have to laugh at yourself sometimes. This is a light-hearted look at that all important moment when you hit the ‘send’ button.
Wooo !
Darn thing you thought was ready, so…
Should you wait or should you post ?
Wait till morning should be fine
But then you could run out of time
So which way you gonna go ?
Do you wait or do you post ?
You’re showing ex-per-tise
It’snappy and you’re very pleased
Today it’s fine, but next it’s ACK !
Oh no, you want to take it back
Well, come on! When do you know ?
Should you wait or should you post ?
Should you wait or should you post now ?
Let it skate you could be toast now
So you post, then new lines bubble
But if you wait too long it’s trouble
Oh come on, just let it go !
Fear of derision’s bugging ye
But you’re all done and pace agrees
Extracted true rhymes, yup flow is free
But you know switched prose leaves then hits thee
Come on, how do you know ?
Should you tool it or should you post ?
Awooooooooooooooo ! Sh!t ! ! !
Should you wait or should you post now ?
On Fri-day you want to post; how !
If you post can rest your muscles
And if you wait you’ll have to hustle
It’s a lotta sweat you know
Should you tool it or should you post ?
Should you wait or should you post now ?
If you post, votes might be subtle
And if you wait the laughs might double
It’s a lotta fret you know
Do you wait or do you post ?
Go on, hit the send button. You know you want to. ;-)

I'm glad you posted this one.
I don't know the original song. But I understand the feeling of "I could have done it better". Happens all the time to me.
TTBF (Too true to be funny.) What Patrick said. 555
...btw, this is ancient history, but now that you've finished the FG-TT production, is the "fight" somewhere in late September more understandable in retrospect? ... DK if you DKTOS, but at one point, TT said to FG, "Go ahead, marry Fred- uh, BJ21!". .. BJ said, "Who's Fred?" ... Interrupted self re: Freddy Einsford-Hill, a character in the original play/movie who wants to marry Eliza Doolittle. (Most other characters were dropped for simplicity. Like it wasn't hard enough as is.)
Can't for the life of me find the link now, but maybe you remember. Not that important -- actually, not at all. But yeah, there was some staged bickering to set the mood for the Prof and DoFiddle, so when FG made some flirtatious comment to you (resisting the urge to put "usual", now that the play's over, heh heh) ;), the "Marry Freddy! line was a direct line from TOS. Yeah, also a hint to those who KTOS that that would be the OS for the parody.
Ancient history, but if you'd been lying awake nights wondering ... just like wondering how the Prof tore himself from the mirror :-) Cheers!

All of the above! [And your parodies never make me say "Ack!"-- unless I'm choking with laughter!] :D
(FWIW, I don't have the slightest idea what TT is talking about, either...)

Good one, BJ21. I had the feeling you described when I first started writing parodies at the age of 13 and for a few years thereafter, but now I fine-tune my parodies here on AmIRight before I send them. (Thank god for the "preview" feature!) 5s.
John: Thanks, glad you liked it.
Patrick: Glad you can relate, thanks.
TT: Thanks for v/c. Yes, I had figured that out before Act I posted. I was looking for old Freddy to show up in your write but alas, a no show. And who wouldn't want to marry dear Eliza? ;-) But no, not been lying awake at nights, you?
Fiddlegirl: Thank you, I have the same reaction to your parodies. I sincerely hope your solo career will continue. :-D
Andria: Thanks for v/c, preview is good.
Funny n' pithy
"I sincerely hope your solo career will continue. " .. Gee, thanks, Dude. I hope you bust every hand. ;)
TJC: Thankth, but let'th not get into a pithing contetht. ;-)
BJ@TT@BJ@FG: LOL, how 'bout I bust 'em on your turtle noggin? Your project was great, but I really enjoy her solo parodies too. And we haven't seen those much since the merger.
I was kidding as much as you were. Of course we'd all like to see the Fiddlegirl put out more.
(ponders whether that should be rephrased) ... Given that there will probably be a little break time before anything of that magnitude is attempted again (I'm thinking, maybe, ten years :), I'm sure we'll see FG doing a lot of solo acts.
(ponders whether last sentence should be rephrased ....)

How did I get sandwiched in the middle here? Everyone will think I'm coming between the two of you!
(ponders whether that should be rephrased...)..........
No, but seriously-- Thanks, BJ. I have a few in progress, but can't seem to get them completed! That "writer's blockhead", as TT says. I'm not nearly as quick as he is. (Ponders whether that should be rephrased....) Hopefully soon! :)

(Ponders whether to respond or leave it alone) TT: Who's kidding? ;-D But I would definitely like to see FG put out more, no kidding!
Fiddlegirl: ROFLMAO! Now see, that turtle has you screwed up in the head. (Ponders a rephrase....nah, screw it!) To thine own self be true; the words will come to you soon enough. I'll be watching for it. :-)
I vudn't rephrase zat fur alles de tea in China. ...Und TT is der szhentleman, "Ladies alvays come furst, Ja?" ... I vud bet dat being de szhentleman he is, he vud be glad to hilf you, even mitout der credit, but ja, iss better sometimes you do it yourself. Den you know you alvays come first!
Blackyack ein-und-zwanzig: How nice you are to quote Herr Turtle's OS zat he parodies on Vednesday!

That's the question I would always ask myself when I used to write parodies on AIR. I would plan my lyrics, proofread, revise, and show to friends and family before posting. It's all good! A hell of a debate! I hereby post you 555's!
