The Lyrics

On Boxing Day the town I grew up in really parties; but this year I had to haul myself back to the city in the afternoon to face work the next day; GREAT!
Sometimes when my train is very empty
Seems like the trip takes all damned night
My ink drifts out
With my imagination
Changing a song for Amiright

Three hours to go til I'm in Hornsby
Three hours to reach my satellite
Got too much time
And thirty boring stations
I'll change a song for Amiright

Now you know what I was writing for
Now you know what's in my mind

And it's something quite peculiar
But it brings me through the night
It brings me cheer
Til Hornsby's the next station
Changing a song for Amiright

Now you know what I was writing for
Now you know what's in my mind

Now you know what I was writing for
Now you know what's in my mind

(Interlude)

I'll admit I'm quite peculiar
When alone on Boxing night
I'll post it here
Reveal my motivation
For changing songs for Amiright

Now you know what I was writing for
Now you know what's in my mind

Now you know what I was writing for
Now you know what's in my mind

I changed a song for Amiright

I changed a song for Amiright

I changed a song for Amiright (fade out)

Another Aussie writer! I used to live in Terrigal and work in Sydney, so Hornsby station's very familiar to me. And you've also reminded me of my second favourite Church song (An Unguarded Moment takes the gold) So for those two things, you get 5s.

not only that, another Aussie writer called Stuart (I'm getting spooked)

no Kristof THIS OS is The Church's finest moment (imo) and one of Australia's, and I am on record as saying I think Steve Kilby's laidback resonant drawl is my favourite Aussie voice

great pacing and a wistful idea that matches the OS, Stuart - I'll watch out for more of your stuff - 555
