The Lyrics

A mother lioness teaches her cub the proper way to hunt and kill they're food.
Verse 1: Now there’s a gazelle running’
That don’t know that we’re huntin’
And I guess it’s not that ‘zelle’s day
He better be ready
We on the Serengeti
I’m sure nature’s going to have her way
Yes I’m a proud lion
I’m in the weeds hidin’
And I know for sure I won’t miss
But the first thing Cubby
Gotta know a little something
Is the technique you cannot dismiss, like this…

(Mother lion shows the cub how she stalks her prey)

Verse 2: She starts stalkin’
With her prey in sight
And they are completely unaware
Thinkin’ hey Bambi, Bambi
I bet you taste just like candy
And she starin’ with a deathly glare
Then she took a big pounce
Caught one in her mouth
She’s a lion who was huntin’ for play
It wasn’t her, she was preachin’
To her cub she was just teachin’
And she taught him how to stalk this way

Chorus: She told him to stalk your prey!
Walk this way!
Hunt your prey!
Jump your prey!
She told him to creep your prey!
Leap your prey!
Track your prey!
Attack your prey!
Well just catch’em like this!
Ooh, a-like this!

Verse 3: African buffet
Where the feed is always speedin’
Wildebeest grazin’ down by the lake
There were three small babies
In the back just waitin’
I guess this is the meal I gon’ take
He was a large plains baby
Didn’t know what he was doin’
‘Til his mom taught him something he missed
Lie in wait, no talkin’
When you’re hungry and you’re stalkin’
All that tender food that he can’t resist, like this

Verse 4: He starts huntin’ with the pride by his side
And the kingdom is his playground
Huntin’ some ibex, ibex
And then he needs a lil Gas-X
He kept on muchin’ and chowin’ down
And then he took a big pounce
Caught one in his mouth
With that meal he was ready for bed
Wasn’t him who’s the preacher
It’s his mama who’s the teacher
Now he recalls just what she had said

Chorus: She told him to stalk your prey!
Walk this way!
Hunt your prey!
Jump your prey!
She told him to creep your prey!
Leap your prey!
Track your prey!
Attack your prey!
Well just catch’em like this!

Roar! Roar! Roar! Roar!
R-r-r-r-r-r-r-roar!

[Ibex guitar solo]
[A lion tackles the Ibex]

Cool, Blaydeman- 555!!! I love the Big Cats but wish they would add the three new ones to the list of 17- the Liger, Tigon, and Pumapard...

Like the inspired take on this one - great idea that complements the original song beautifully. Nicely paced too - you caught some 555's.... :^)

Thanks Rob and Wendy! To Rob, I assume the reason that those three aren't on there is because the are hybrids and actually sterile. They can't reproduce their species. That's the reason for that I guess.

>I like how you give unique hunting situations in each new verse. And keeping the S-alliteration in your version of the "see-saw swingin" was a nice touch! >Favorite line: We on the Serengeti I’m sure nature’s going to have her way

Between your parody about the dead gazelle and this one, you are like the Jeff Corwin of Amiright!

(ABC) I can picture Steven Tyler doing the rap...with Bear Grylls!

I could have sworn I read this parody before! Strange that my comment never showed up. Maybe it got hunted and killed by a lion. This reminds me of all of those classic Animal Planet shows with the British narrator.

What do vegans say before stalking their food? "Lettuce prey."

(ABC) Ah, so this is what Simba learned from his mother while Mufasa was waffling on about the Circle of Life. Great parody of a great song, 555!

I love the OS and this was a really funny subject to write about (sounds kinda gruesome, but you 'executed' this perfectly) nice work!
