The Lyrics
My dedication to DC's Swamp Thing who was once biochemist Alec Holland, a brilliant man with a formula to bring life to barren landscapes. Except that the mysterious Mr.E wants it for his own purposes and tries to kill Holland with a bomb in his lab. Holland catches fire and splashed with biochemicals dives into the Louisiana swamp muck to later emerge as a hideous creature that _thinks_ it is Alec Holland but really is a new plant entity with the faint memories of Holland. The creature struggles to determine its humanity but does not possess it anymore. In rage, it strikes out against Mr.E and his goons. Holland's former lover does not recognize anything of him in the creature so it returns to the swamp to live out its lonely existence...
