In regards to site-specific material: I don't know how important it is in songwriting, but not all of us are song writers (I'm sure not) and, in the print markets, being able to niche a piece to a very specific regular readership is a vital skill.

Yes Melhi, you are wise in the ways of business. I write parodies just because, I like to write parodies. Sometimes it's just fluff & fun, and other topics are just asking to be written, such as this one.
Well, I don't know how wise I am, but it is a legitimate writing skill. It's also a safe bet that there isn't one parody on this site, on any topic however broad or niched, that was submitted on the hopes that it would never be read or enjoyed by anyone. Oh and in my not so humble opinion, just because you like writing is the absolute best reason to write. :)
Agreed Melhi. I truthfully think that we have many talented and whimsical writers on this site, or I never would have written this little ditty.

Site-specific or not, this is the first one I've seen to plug especially for the gals!! :-) Great job, Diva, nice to see you post again. BTW, what is the "newbie faux pas?"
Leah, just common mistakes. Some writers like to make correction comments about: decade errors, grammer, spelling, punctuation, and who the original artist of the song is. Some will dis for pacing, subject, content, or political views. I think you have done a great job, as a new writer. You have managed to avoid most of the pitfalls, that some newbies have faced. =)
