I wrote this based on a true story. A girl who was destined to become a karate star was run over by a drunk driver. She ended up paralyzed and could not function as she used to. Her mom came to my school to give a speech about the incident. I was thinking about it and decided that this song's melody and tone were suitable for the event. Every time I hear the original song, this is what I think of.
