The Lyrics

Yeah!
(Vroom)
(x2)

Down on the East Side, there's a road race,
And everyone's looking so lean & mean.
But I'm gonna go take first place
In my Chevy-powered road machine.

Oh yeah, I'm gonna race down to Camaro Avenue
With the pedal to the metal!
Oh, I'm gonna race down to Camaro Avenue
With the pedal to the metal!

Racing so hard through the city,
Can't afford to not race good.
But my opponents I pity,
With a 350 under my hood.

Oh yeah, I'm gonna race down to Camaro Avenue
With the pedal to the metal!
Oh, I'm gonna race down to Camaro Avenue
With the pedal to the metal!

Oh yeah! (x4)

Oh yeah, I'm gonna race down to Camaro Avenue
With the pedal to the metal!
Oh, I'm gonna race down to Camaro Avenue
With the pedal to the metal!

We're getting closer to the finish,
Getting hot under the sun.
I push ahead of a Mustang,
Cross the line, & now I have won.

Oh yeah, I won the race down to Camaro Avenue
With the pedal to the metal!
Oh yeah, I won the race down to Camaro Avenue
With the pedal to the metal!

Oh, race in the streets.
Race in the streets.
Race through the daytime,
Race through the night.

Oh, I won the race down to Camaro Avenue
With the pedal to the metal!
Oh, I won the race down to Camaro Avenue
With the pedal to the metal!

Race in the streets (Vroom).
Race in the streets (Vroom).
Race through the city,
From the East Side of town.

Oh, I won the race down to Camaro Avenue
With the pedal to the metal.
Hey, I won the race down to Camaro Avenue!
Oh yeah!
(With the pedal to the metal)
Racing through the daytime,
(He's gonna race down to Camaro Avenue)
Racing through the night
(With the pedal to the metal)
(Camaro Avenue)'

Earth to Dylan! The 1977-79 Dodge Magnum XE is superior to the Camaro in every way, despite being as big as a Coupe deVille. Thanks to its torsion-bar suspension (also used by Porsche), it can outhandle a Camaro, a Mustang or just about any "tuner car" (especially if it has been lowered by a teenager), due to its selection of beefy, NASCAR-proven 360, 400 and 440 V-8's, it is faster, and it will comfortably accommodate a family of five. Try that with a Camaro! And by the way, the only truly significant carmakers (dead or alive) are Dodge, Chrysler, Plymouth, MG, Austin-Healey, Fiat, Lancia, Alfa Romeo and Jaguar.

Well, I suppose it's all a matter of opinion. I like a bunch of different kinds of cars. However, I don't discriminate by brand, but rather by the individual models of automobiles. And besides, the 77-79 Magnum is a rare car, & a 2nd-gen Camaro Z28 could beat it if modified properly.
