The Lyrics

A parody about Nintendo as well as other game systems.
Jump

Jump

Down in the hills there be goombas
and, and a lots of coin to be won
I need to get to the princess
and, and I won't stop 'til it's all done, oh yeah

We gonna go down to Nintendo avenue
and then we'll fight the Koopa
we gonna go down to Nintendo avenue
and then we'll fight the Bowser

Pimpin' so hard like a gangsta
must avoid the law on the street
deep in the slums I'm a dealer
go do jobs for the thugs, oh man

We gonna go down to Playstation avenue
and then we'll shoot the gangsta
oh, we gonna go down to Playstation avenue
and then we'll bomb the mobster

Ka-boom
ka-boom
ka-ching
ka-ching

Oh yeah
we gonna go down to Nintendo avenue
and then we'll fight the Ganon
oh, we gonna go down to Nintendo avenue
and then we'll fight the Wiley

When will I play Gangsta Alley?
never can win at Outlaw
playin' the 2600
and I still can't find Fatal Run, oh my

We gonna go down to Atari avenue
and then we'll play the Combat
oh yeah, we gonna go down to Atari avenue
and then we'll play Ms. Pac-man

Down in the hills
down in the hills
deep in the castle
in the dark world I'm bound

Oh, we gonna go down to Nintendo avenue
and then we'll beat the Koopa
we gonna go down to Playstation avenue
(Oh yeah...)
and then we'll fight the gangsta
(Playin' in the daytime)
we gonna go down to Atari avenue
(Playin' in the night)
and then we'll play the Outlaw
(Playin' in the daytime)
we gonna go down to Nintendo avenue
(Oh, on the next game)
and then we'll beat the Koopa

(Fade out)
The way some of the lyrics are setup is intentional, to give a comical broken english feel. Comments?

You worked hard and carefully on this, a very good job! I was somewhat confused during verse 2, but I got it eventually . Brought back some fine memories for me. "Topscore to Player SH: 555"

A nice trip back in time. And one of my favorite OSes (lots of those today)

Thanks Agrimorfee, adagio, alvin, Ann and Jeff! Yeah, verse two is about the GTA series, although I've never played it myself. I have, however watch my cousin play them.

It does seem Nintendo plays a huge role in so many of our lives. I remember when Bowser's name WAS Koopa (which is to my understanding why the little turtle armies are called "Koopa Troopas", such a memorable series, 5s

My official address should be somewhere along one of those roads. 555 green mushrooms and a warp whistle for Stephen.

(Amiright Idol) Well, as an Idol judge I must leave a more in depth comment than I did here. Recordability on this one was fantastic, it's actually one of my favorite parodies of this song so far. Nintendo is a big name, and name brands always garner attention in the recording world (Pepsi Dependency, I'll Drink the Slim Fast, South Park and Affair Mushroom Kingdom are among my most popular recordings). Great job on catching the feel of the OS and the rhyme scheme. Only one slight criticism for you, going into Atari and Playstation kinda took away from the Nintendo theme to it and created a bit of a rift in an otherwise flawless parody, so watch randomness, but great job Stephen.

Well, I wanted variety for it. So that's why I did it that(although I could have gave it a different title, like Video Game Avenue). The Atari part was the hardest, I had to look up game titles that would work for the verse. :)

(Idol) The video games theme worked very well to this OS. Sacrificing rhyming a bit in the chorus for the sake of variety was a good idea, here. I like how you kept this from being too single-game specific, thus increasing its appeal.

Precisely what I was thinking Stephen--as "Video Game Avenue" the Atari and Playstation mentions wouldn't have seemed as awkward. . .still great job though.

Yeah, it was a minor hindsight on my part, title wise. So problems here. ; )
