The Lyrics

I belong to the Red Hat Society. My chapter is called "A Little On The Gaudy Side" Red Hats. I made this song for our chapter "A Little On The Gaudy Side" Red Hats
Gaudy Women - Red Hats

Well, as I grew older took on a gaudy kind of style
But my taste in purple clothes and red hats drove my family half wild
Family had a plan for me, it was rocking chairs and TV
But I like my purple I like my Red Hat Gaudy

Year I like my red hat a little on the gaudy side
When we wear our purple clothes too gaudy and our hats are dyed red
Too much lipstick and too much rough
Gets me excited get me looking gaudy
And I like my red hat a little on the gaudy side

Shoulda seen the looks on the faces of my family
When I showed up at the door with my Red Hat friends dressed for the Society Tea
They said, well pardon us ladies, yall ain't no kids
that's a guady purple dress with a red hat
I said "We know it, ain't we cool" That's the kind we dig

Year I like my red hat a little on the gaudy side
When we wear out purple clothes too gaudy and our hat is dyed red
Too much lipstick and too much rough
Gets me excited gets me looking gaudy
And I like my red hat a little on the gaudy side

I like them flashy, I like them with a hatpin of purple
Year, I like em brassy I like em gaudy and bold
Well, they say opposites attract but I don't agree
I want red hatters just as gaudy as me

Year I like my red hat a little on the gaudy side
When we wear our purple clothes too gaudy and our hat is dyed red
Too much lipstick and too much rough
Gets me excited gets me looking gaudy
Year, I like my red hat a little on the gaudy side

Pretty gaud. Never heard of the club, but I bet it's fun. Sounds like they'd discriminate against me, though. Perhaps I'll sue. Just kidding; nice job.

Is there any one out there that could sing this parody Gaudy Women for me. I need it to put on my web page. It is to the turn of Trashy Women. I need someone to get the Karokee music to Trashy Women and sing and record it on a wav file for me for my web page. Any help out there. Email onthegaudyside@aol.com

Evenly, I love your parody, Danny Shirley and the guys are personal friends of mine and my husband A.Jaye, I'm sure he took it as a great compliment by you choosing his song Trashy Women. I hope you and the other ladies had a good time at Ms. Linda's Tea Room Saturday night. We really enjoyed having you, especially in your purple, red & pink regalia. Your Red Hat Sister, Linda O'Bryant ( Prissy Hens and Betties)
