| Original Song Title: | "Born In The USA" |
| Original Performer: | Bruce Springsteen |
| Parody Song Title: | "Born In The UK" |
| Parody Written by: | Gibby |
Seeing as Bruce was showing his anguish at the poor treatment of Vietnam vets, I though Id make a version telling of my disgust of hyow a proud nation is slipping away.
Born down in Accrington
The first song I heard was Going Underground
Praise the Union Jack that I love so much
Proud to be a nation that is on the way up!!!
Born in the U.K.
I was born in the U.K.
I was born in the U.K.
Born in the U.K.
Got into trouble once or twice,
Even England's full of sin and vice,
Full of folks from a foreign land
Take our jobs, boy it makes me mad.
Born in the U.K.
I was born in the U.K.
I was born in the U.K.
I was born in the U.K.
Born in the U.K.
Come back home to my Mum and Dad,
My old man says "Son, times are bad"
You shouldn't drink, fight or smoke,
He said "Son, our nations a joke"
We used to be a land of tolerance, but we'll end up as bad as France,
All we had, it's all gone...
We had an Empire, don't you know?
But we slowly let it all go...
Down in the shadow of the Union Jack,
I think of what we had and I want it back,
Friendly neighbours living down the road,
More jobs for Brits with no-where to go..
Born in the U.K.
I was born in the U.K.
Born in the U.K
I sing God Save The Queen in the U.K.
Born in the U.K.
Born in the U.K.
Born in the U.K.
I sing God Save The Queen in the U.K.

God save the Queen... from stuff like this. Then again, she probably still feels sick from having to spend time with Bush.
I don't really understand most the song, sorry, I'll read it again later after I eat. . .but it doesn't pace quite right, but alas. . .you are new. . .so it's only practice, I understand that.
Nah, Michael, she probably just feels less intelligent.....but anyway, the parody...yeah, I didn't care for it. The pacing in the chorus was way off, since you're missing one whole syllable in the key phrase. Points for some sort of effort, though.
Yep soz its preety poor. When I sung it in my head I stretched the U - but as you say its only practice.
The employment issue still rankles with me, so I understand what's being got at.
