I've had this idea for several months, but didn't have time to do anything with it. Finally just took the time. That'll teach me to parody an obscure song that hit the charts, turned a relative unknown into a household name for awhile, made parents uncomfortable and languished in heavy rotation for the better part of a decade, eh? *grin* I thought the link to the original would help, but... oh well. Of COURSE I know the original; I was right in the middle of puberty when it was a hit and I found it VERY INSTRUCTIVE.
A parody of The Stroke called The Poke - I thought I was heading into X-rated territory. Then when I got to the chorus and figured out you'd made it squeaky G-rated clean, I was simultaneously disappointed and delighted. Hilarious. Now I've gotta go dig out my old copy of "Don't Say No" - it just occurred to me that I still love the song "My Kinda Lover." (Does that make me a Dexter?)

I know the original song too; I was maybe less than a year old when it came out. I first heard it when I was in my teens though. Anyway, I thought it was pretty good. 5-5-5.

It's not there! Anyway, I got to hear it a couple minutes after I wrote the 1st "DKTOS" comment and you did an excellent job.
