The Lyrics
The song got stuck in my head recently after watching the 1982 musical film "Annie" featuring Aileen Quinn, and since some, myself included, do loathe it for being saccharine and ear-wormy, I thought maybe I could turn it into a song about fruits e.g. bananas. This is basically what happens when Aileen's character somehow wandered around the produce section of a supermarket than in whatever bizarro adventure Annie Warbucks gets herself into in the comics.
The grocery's got, bananas
For just half a dollar, they're Chiquitas
Tastes so yum
For cooking or snacks, bananas
Full of starch, pottasium and it's yellow
Like the sun
When I'm making desserts
Like shakes, and sundae
Or when cooking some stews
And pies
