| Original Song Title: | "Poison Arrow" |
| Original Performer: | ABC |
| Parody Song Title: | "Someone Gobbled Marrow" |
| Parody Written by: | Lucy Branston's Great-Granddaughter |
This parody is inspired by the recent Wallace and Gromit film, Curse of the Were-Rabbit.
If I were to say to you
Can you plant some new seeds?
Would you know just what to do
Or cultivate weeds?
Then I enter contests
Heighten the situation
Is mulch and compost
The right combination?
Who wrecked my veg plot?
Were-Rabbit, Were-Rabbit
Stole from allotments?
Were-Rabbit, Were-Rabbit
Ate lettuce hearts?
Were-Rabbit, Were-Rabbit
Someone gobbled marrow after dark
Someone gobbled marrow
Someone gobbled marrow after dark
Someone gobbled marrow
No prize-winning carrots
No best cauliflower
No carrot seedlings
No red-and-gold plums
So much for prizes
There's nothing to judge
If they're just potatoes
Then how did they budge?
Festival entries
Have all been eaten
So call up the P.C.
And file complaints
File complaints
Who gobbled sprouts?
Were-Rabbit, Were-Rabbit
Dug up the garden?
Were-Rabbit, Were-Rabbit
Ate Jersey Royals?
Were-Rabbit, Were-Rabbit
Someone gobbled marrow after dark
Someone gobbled marrow
Someone gobbled marrow after dark
Someone gobbled marrow
I thought it was Gromit but it seems to be a were-thing
See here in this book about creatures of folklore
Where are my turnips?
Were-Rabbit, Were-Rabbit
Where's all my cabbage?
In Were-Rabbit
Comes out in dark
The Were-Rabbit
In the night deep
When it knows we're asleep
Someone gobbled marrow after dark
Someone gobbled marrow
Someone gobbled marrow after dark
Someone gobbled marrow
Dark
Someone gobbled marrow
Someone gobbled marrow
Can you plant some new seeds?
Would you know just what to do
Or cultivate weeds?

Hmm, LBGG. Love "Wallace & Gromit", love the tune, but your efforts to squeeze that "Were-Rabbit" into the meter of this song just don't work. Surprising, considering the green thumb you've shown in your other works. Love the title refrain, though.
