| Parody Song Title: | "Breakdown" |
| Parody Written by: | Paul Robinson |
Well, I haven't been around too much lately, but I have been writing. Been working with some Tom Petty stuff, so here we go with one of his early OS songs...
[instrumental intro]
Late at night on the freeway
You are tryin' to get home
Light from your engine; it gets your attention
Suddenly now you smell smoke
(Sh*t)
Auto club; Tow truck; they're sending
Car must be towed away
Stuck on the roadside you see the cars fly by
Watch them pass by in dismay
WHY ME?
Breakdown
Why did this happen to me?
Breakdown
Now I'm stuck here late at night
Downtown
Now I'm stranded here; no relief
Breakdown
Late at night
By roadside
Man, that bites
[instrumental break]
[sing {bracketed} lyrics to lead guitar notes]
{stuck here at night}
{by the roadside}
{it's late at night}
{dah-dammit, dah-dammit, damn-dammit, dah-damn!}
Breakdown
How did this happen to me?
Sit down
Now you aren't feeling alright
You frown
You're stranded there, "Woe is me"
You scowl
At your plight
You're uptight
This sure bites
[instrumentals out to end Fade]
[sung to lead guitar notes out to fade]
{stuck here at night}
{man, that sure bites}

I really like the fitting of the parody to the song...not tense at all. Loved it all, Paul. 5's
Thanks, Pat ~ ~ ~
masterfully written
`AAA' , er, um `Five Star' parody!
Well written and quite soulful as well. I wouldn't want to be stranded late at night (I have once before). I have to find even more 5s to keep giving you! 555 yet again Paul.
alvin, TJC & Jason - Thanks! Yeah, being stranded on the roadside sucks anytime of day, but especially late at night...
Yep. Reminds me of having my car die at 2 a.m. on Sepulveda... :-P
Mer - not a fun experience, I'll warrant...
