The Lyrics

Forgive me, my fellow parodists. It's just that there a lots of NBA fans in my family. Explanatory notes -- "Pine" is a euphemism for bench and "dime", for some reason, is basketball slang for assist
Jeremy was a point guard!
Was the tenth man of mine
I never understood the talent that he had
So I told him to ride the pine
And I always had some room on the pine

Singin' ... Joy to New York
All the elites and dorks
Joy to the Knick fans in the nosebleed seats
Joy to you and me

If I were the coach of the Knicks
Tell you what I'd do
I'd sit 'Melo down at the end of the bench
Hand the team over to you

Joy to New York
All the elites and dorks
Joy to the Knick fans in the nosebleed seats
Joy to you and me

You know he loves his lay ups
Loves to get out and run
He's a fly bright dimer and an Asian strider
And a trey shootin' son of a gun (ah ha ha ha ha)
I said a trey shootin' son of a gun (All right)

Joy to New York
All the elites and dorks
Joy to the Knick fans in the cheap blue seats
Joy to you and me

Singin' .. JOY to New York!
All the elites and dorks!

Joy to New York
All the elites and dorks
Joy to the Knick fans in the cheap blue seats
Joy to you and me

Nice one, Linnie.

"He's a fly lane driver and an Asian dimer" .. that would have worked too. And would you believe, JAB, that I woke up at 5:00 this morning (AZ time) with this song swirling in my head. So I submitted it post haste and 30 minutes later, there it was .. on the site. Didn't realize things could happen so fast. Perhaps the fact that there were so few songs today helped.

I perceived some minor pacing issues - maybe a chink in your armour - otherwise very good stuff.

What can I say, John. I composed this first thing in the morning before I had put on the coffee so I might have been a bit dis-Oriented
Callmelennie - March 24, 2012 - Report this comment
And speaking of dis-Oriention, last night Jeremy had only 4 points and 4 assists against the Raptors. You could probably get away with saying that last night Lin's contribution was Nil. (Hiyooo!) Is it possible that Lin-sanity is now being Nil-lified by "Melodrama?" (Baroomp Ching!) Thank you, thank you ... Carmelo Anthony, ladies and gentlemen, with the rim shot
