The Lyrics

I usually don't include "pre" comments. I wanted to enter the "Ramones" comp and this title sub came to me. I've included the lyrics to the OS because
1.)The YouTube link isn't too helpful...see it here Havana Affair
2.)None of you have ever heard of this OS
3.)If it was me...I would never take the time to find the original lyrics
4.)BTW...The RHCP covered this song...but this is a Ramones round...
A Vanna Affair

C…C…R…buy a vowel from my Vanna
The…A…won me a living room
Capital of Ghana*
She is my favorite MILF…and so
I save her on my TiVo!

Wheely, wheely…just need to meet her
Wheely, wheely…just need to sheet her

Once I strayed to another day-time show
Some chick named Hannah…Oh…no…no
I need to make my fantasy
Real so I can plan a
Affair with my Vanna!

IB

Havana Affair

PT-boat on the way to Havana
I used to make a living, man
Pickin' the banana.
Now I'm a guide for the CIA
Hooray for the USA!

Baby, baby, make me a loco
Baby, baby, make me a mambo

Sent to spy on a Cuban talent show
First stop- Havana au go-go
I used to make a living, man
Pickin' the banana
Hooray for Havana!

Ramones
* Accra is the capital of Ghana

Having listened to TOSs and read the other Ramones parodies today I figured I would at least read this one, but I'm afraid it goes right over my head, I know she's some type of game show host, I'll stop there since I'm not in this comp myself, Good luck though!

That's the most popular game show in America - it even has versions all over the world.

Was that a reference to Hannah Montana or somebody else? This one wasn't bad, and it's good to see you back in the Artistry comp (Although I would have liked to see what you would have come up with for Brandy, and Duran Duran) and hopefully you'll stay with us this time even though this song wasn't exactly one of your best.

Thanks for the comments.
alvin...do I win the trip too ?
Thanks for the "good luck"
2Eagle...thanks for the info...
Matthias...actually it was probably one of my worst. I was going for a kind of "minimalist" thing and it sort of fell flat.
I've been having a bit of a tough time with Artistry lately. I've found that I have difficulty with parodies of songs, and bands, that I am unfamiliar with. I mean, bashing is fun and all, but I feel I've overplayed that theme.
Also, when BAD told me in Tampa (we were on the way to the liquor store...remember Dave?) that Artistry is going to go on for, like, 37 more years...I think I got a little intimidated ;-)

I do remember, though I'm pretty sure I said almost 5:) Well more like 4.2 now. . .chugging through the artists

Invisible Boy, I have taken the liberty to enter this into "The Ramones" Round for you since it mentions it in the opening comments, if you wish it to be withdrawn though, just let me know.

Like I said... You've done better than this, but I'm happy to see you back in the contests. Let's see a Bon Jovi parody by you coming soon...

Great

(Artistry) I don't understand why people are saying this isn't that great. After all, it does a lot with a 2 minute Ramones song--I'm saddened that you didn't do a second verse.

(Artistry) Woah, short much? That said, this was pretty good. Maybe a longer OS would've suited better, but whatever.
Rex - August 20, 2008 - Report this comment
(Artistry) I always wanted to be on WOF so that when it came my turn I could guess a number. Not bad at all for what you had to work with.

(Artistry) Man, that's two Ramones songs in a row where you could have played a bunch of backwards crap and it'd probably make more sense, anyhow. I think the topic you chose may have left you with a bad combination for this particular song. Wheel of Fortune would probably be more suited to a song that has spelling in it or something with two parts, this particular one clashed a bit. . .still love having you back in Artistry, hope you stick around!

Short but sweet. Not a bad song, pretty straightforward.
