Lyin' Eyes

The Bush boys seem to find out real easy
How your daddy's name will slide you right on in
A rich old man and he don't have to worry
Daddy's money and his name, are sure to win

Later on, he stands up in front of that big sign
"Mission Accomplished" seemed so pat and nice
And it breaks their hearts, all those many families
To think they've given their all for such a price

So he told us we must give it all up, everything
To make ourselves safer, or so he says
And he plays us for such fools, we're so trusting
He is lying and he knows we think he's the Prez

Bush can't hide his lyin' eyes
And his smile is such a cheap disguise
I thought by now, we'd realize
There ain't no way to hide his lyin' eyes

On the other side of the divide, a man is waiting
With a fighter's stance and he dreams with such zeal
We flock to him, we stand up, so invigorating
'Cause he makes us feel the way we used to feel

We rush to his side
We stand together
He tells us that we have the power inside
He says that very soon we'll be taking it back
Our country, in our hands, and we astride

Howie gets up, soon he'll be fighting Bush
And stares out into the long dark cold night
Soon he knows he'll kick that guy in the tush
And then he'll start to set things to right

Bush hides and flees, drawing the circle around him
He wonders how it ever got this crazy
He thinks about all those many lies he told
Did he ever speak the truth or was he just lazy
He's so far gone now, he feels just like a toad
My, oh my, Karl sure knows how to arrange things
He set it up, so well, so carefully
Ain't it funny how his plans they didn't change things
Bush is still the same old turd he used to be
