Thanks for the info, Steve - I must admit I didn't know that. I love the original song...it's an ingenious synthesis of head-bangin' hard-drivin' rock music with good ol' gospel.

Steve, just to clarify my previous comment - when I said that I love the original song, I am referring to the hard-rock version by The Doobie Brothers. I haven't heard the version you mentioned (by the later version of The Byrds), but now you've got me curious...
