Song Parodies -> Bone Caught in My Throat
| Original Song Title: | "I Started A Joke" |
| Original Performer: | The Bee Gees |
| Parody Song Title: | "Bone Caught in My Throat" |
| Parody Written by: | Paul Robinson |
Never did a parody of a "Bee Gees" song before...I had never taken them seriously enough to actually pay attention to the complete lyrics of any of their songs (OK...I liked "Stayin' Alive"...but only as it was used in the movie "Airplane")...OH, yeah, I know that "bone" is not spelled as I used it...I really wanted to drag out those syllables the way the Gibb boys did...and I intentionally DIDN'T elongate the last "bone" of this piece...geez, this is more complicated than the whole damn parody...
Bone caught in my throat
I think that I might be dying
Say, Bud, excuse me
I am choking, Help - Plee-ee-ee-ease
Throat had been real dry
I shouldn't have ordered chicken
For I should have known
I might choke on the boe-oh-oh-owne
I raised my hands high
Spit out some skin onto my fries
Then phlegm blew out my nose
splattered my clothes
got some on my toes
It seems now I may die
Because of a bone from chicken
I may soon be deceased
'cause I craved chicken gree-ee-ee-ease
Guy, would you please try?
Smacking my back - two or three times
Arrr-ghh; face has turned red
Soon out of breath
A prelude to death
Then much to my surprise
I noticed I was now breathing
Lucky; once I'd been shown
How to swallow a bone
I think that I might be dying
Say, Bud, excuse me
I am choking, Help - Plee-ee-ee-ease
Throat had been real dry
I shouldn't have ordered chicken
For I should have known
I might choke on the boe-oh-oh-owne
I raised my hands high
Spit out some skin onto my fries
Then phlegm blew out my nose
splattered my clothes
got some on my toes
It seems now I may die
Because of a bone from chicken
I may soon be deceased
'cause I craved chicken gree-ee-ee-ease
Guy, would you please try?
Smacking my back - two or three times
Arrr-ghh; face has turned red
Soon out of breath
A prelude to death
Then much to my surprise
I noticed I was now breathing
Lucky; once I'd been shown
How to swallow a bone

alvin...Ok, you're sick...lol...but whatever it is I think I have it, too....Thanks ~ ~ ~
I DKTOS but this is funny. Though Beavis and Butthead are probably not to your tastes, this reminds me of when Butthead chokes on a chicken bone. I suppose you would know what Beavis said.
Red - thanks for looking in, glad the read gave you a chuckle...I only saw a few Beavis/Butthead episodes...so I'm not really sure what Beavis might say off the top of my head right now...but I'm sure it would be juvenile and crude and maybe kinda funny ~ ~ ~
Uh huh-huh-huh... Uh huh-huh-huh... You're choking on your chicken... Uh huh-huh-huh...

good send-up of the whiny OS paul - 555
I find a lot of the Bee Gees later music hard to swallow....555
YAD, Adagio, Stuart & Rick C...Thanks! Yeah, I thought this parody story fit the OS's "whiny" tone to a "T"(bone) ~ ~ ~
Paul, this parody would sound great accompanied by piano-maneuvers from Marvin Heimlich.
JD - yes, and I've heard that there is nothing quite like a good Heim-liching on your piece ~ ~ ~
