Song Parodies -> Oh! Starling
| Original Song Title: | "Oh! Darling" |
| Original Performer: | The Beatles |
| Parody Song Title: | "Oh! Starling" |
| Parody Written by: | Mark Scotti |
From one of my favorite movies and novels: What would a love letter from Hannibal Lecter to Clarice Starling look like?
Oh! Starling, please say eat me
I'll savor you from the start
I want you all inside me
Then we'll never ever part
Oh! Starling, never leave me
Come over soon for some fun
For me, it's so ful"filling"
For you, it's dinner for one
You helped my escape, didn't need Graham anymore
I planned your boss's brains, to be fried
And then you helped me, from Mason and the boars
Then I knew I wanted you, as my bride
Oh! Starling, please complete me
A love meal just like fine art
My desire's unending
I'll make a flambe with your heart
Oh! Starling,come to see me
I hunger for your left hand
Scream, but I can tell you
I'll silence all of your lambs
I'll savor you from the start
I want you all inside me
Then we'll never ever part
Oh! Starling, never leave me
Come over soon for some fun
For me, it's so ful"filling"
For you, it's dinner for one
You helped my escape, didn't need Graham anymore
I planned your boss's brains, to be fried
And then you helped me, from Mason and the boars
Then I knew I wanted you, as my bride
Oh! Starling, please complete me
A love meal just like fine art
My desire's unending
I'll make a flambe with your heart
Oh! Starling,come to see me
I hunger for your left hand
Scream, but I can tell you
I'll silence all of your lambs

"Oh, Scotti, please believe me. You written songs from your heart. So please go entertain me. Then we'll never, ever part." Very impressive, Mark! I always loved Silence of the Lambs. My fave line is "Hello, Clarice". It's all good! 555!!!
Hello, Christie.
Thanks so much!!!
Armumarhmymaurp! (it's hard to say 'fives' with one's mouth full)
Good idea here Mark. I left me hungry for more.
Unique idea...most digestive
Thanks AFW, I.B. & TJ!
Fava beans and a nice Chianti to you all...
One tasty parody.
Thanks, John!!!
lol...disturbingly funny...thought it was gonna be a bird watcher's song at first
Thanks, Alvin.
Yes, he is a different kind of "bird" watcher!!!
Great book, great film, great parody
Thanks Andy, and you are absolutely right. That was one of the all time best "Movie was just as good as the book" scenario!!!
(ABC5O) Wow, this was a strange-yet-incredible idea if there ever was one! 555
Thanks, and a dessert to you, DJ!!
(ABC5 O) The theme and written words, along with the plaintive cry of the OS, work really well here. There are parts where the phrasing is off a little and there is a second chorus in the OS, which could have been added with different words.
I had this with fava beans and a nice Chianti! ...slsplpsplslss!!!
I enjoyed this parody with some fava beans and a big Amarone. 5s.
Fava beans of thanks to you, Timmy(this was one of my earlier works...)
And a noce Chianti of thanks to you, Agri & Andria!!!
(ABC5O)
What's all this talk about fava beans when we all know ol' Hanny ate human beans. Mark - I could actually hear Anthony Hopkins singing this as I read it in that "Hello Clarice" tone in his voice. Lambtastic.

A "slice" of spring "lamb" and thanks to you, Guy!!
If you read this with a dirty mind you're bound to find something even more funnier than you would if you were a nun for example: "I want you all inside me" had me cracking up... On the other hand reading it out right "I'll make a flambe with your heart" was a great line as also was "I'll silence all of your lambs"
"Fulfilling" thanks to you, Matthias!
(ABC) Clever idea, great start, but then some of your pacing got rough, some wrong syllables were accented, and some some lines fell flat for me. I'll give you credit for the clever idea and the great start. 5-4-4.
Thanks for the vote & advice, Melanie.
(ABC5) I don't know who or what Hannibal Lecter is, but just the idea of a love song about eating someone is just brilliant enough for it not to matter. 555 for you (sucking noises)!
Hungry thanks to you, bobpie!!
ABC5(O) As I read along with the OS, I noticed 4 lines missing near the end...Otherwise, great concept and execution...555
Thanks, Leo. It was an early work, and yes, i did concentrate on the concept and execution..
Great ending!
Something tells me that Hannibal wouldn't eat Clarice under any circumstances as he 'only eats the rude' . . .so to speak. That aside, I thought this was a very fun idea Mark, and disturbing at the same time. One problem with this O.S. is it leaves you very little to work with unfortunately, but still clever idea and well written
