| Parody Song Title: | "High School Techies" |
| Parody Written by: | Sylvia Viridian |
I used to be a lighting techie at my high school theater. Part of this song popped into my head one day in Stagecraft class, when we were trying to plug several distant lights into the same dimmer switch, so that they would go up and down at the same time, and we were having difficulty finding enough cable to connect them all. I worked on it briefly in my head, then stopped, but I never forgot it. A few days ago, I hammered out the rest of the lyrics. So, to the tune of 'Lady Madonna', I give you...
High school techies,
Cables at your feet...
I wonder how you'll manage to make ends meet?
Who buys replacements,
When your tools are bent?
Did you think new tools were heaven-sent?
Your wireless mikes came sans their box transmitters,
Your sky-blue gels are burned through, every one.
And if your new guy gets zapped into fritters,
Your show won't run!
High school techies,
With Act One's cues to test.
Wonder if you'll manage to cue the rest?
Monday afternoons are never-ending...
Wednesday's new equipment didn't come,
So Friday all your cables will need mending,
Or your show won't run!
High school techies,
Cables at your feet.
I wonder how you'll manage to make ends mee-eet!

Wonder if you'll manage to cue the rest?
Monday afternoons are never-ending...
Wednesday's new equipment didn't come,
So Friday all your cables will need mending,
Or your show won't run!
High school techies,
Cables at your feet.
I wonder how you'll manage to make ends mee-eet!
I know that some of the terms are a bit technical, but hopefully it's still enjoyable! Find my livejournal here.
