Parody Song Title:

"Don't Bale The Hay"

Parody Written by:

Claude Prez

I'm baling the hay
Got to do my chores very urgently
I'm working for free
Agriculture's not what it used to be

Out here I'm a farmer
I drive a Ford
By this time tomorrow
I'll still be poor

Why'd I
Oh why'd I buy
A dairy farm?

I look to the east
That tractor is my fave; it's so glimmery
I'm selling my car
I think of all my friends...and how broke we are

They'll need farmers forever
so the story goes
But somehow we missed out
Because farming blows

But we'll try
best that we can
to dairy farm

A gathering of strangers
appeared in my front yard
They said that they were bureaucrats
and that I worked too hard
They said
Don't bale the hay
Don't bale the hay
Don't bale the hay for free, man
Don't bale the hay
Don't bale the hay
Don't bale the hay for free

I thought that they were lawyers
but to my surprise
They handed me a large check
And I was subsidized
They said
Don't bale the hay
Don't bale the hay
Don't bale the hay for free, man
Don't bale the hay
Don't bale the hay
Don't bale the hay for freeee

I like this one a lot. And how anyone docked the pacing on this is beyond me. I guess some people vote without knowing the original song. I grew up on a farm, so i relate to this pretty well too. Good job dude.

What's next? "Stock and Hole, Part II (The Hay Song)"? Shouldn't be too hard to come up with lyrics for that one.

To steal from Doonesbury: My country tis of thee, sweet land of subsidy. Enjoyed this.
