The Lyrics

well, i can sing their songs all by heart
seen 'em cavort on the stage
always satisfies ya
for their years, they're spry ones
glad that they don't act their age
hard to gauge

sixty plus winters, mick keeps on singin'
his voice still sounds divine
and he still can strut
its his wicked art
he ain't broke down and dried
he's worldwide

i said, lord knows...the rolling stones are old
but i like 'em
i said, lord knows...the rolling stones are old
but i like 'em...like 'em...yes i do
oh yeah, i like 'em...i like 'em...i like 'em
i said, some believe that those ol' boys sure are hoary

they seemed to stick so high in the charts
sold out nights when on the stage
rockin' out so tough, causin' tons of lust
rebels goin' 'gainst the grain
nothin' feigned

i really dig them deep in my heart
feelings erupt on this page
i'm a record buyer...not a stones decryer
if i was, i'd feel insane
in my brain

i said, lord knows...the rolling stones are old
but i like 'em
i said, lord knows...the rolling stones are old
but i like 'em...like 'em...yes i do
oh yeah, i like 'em...i like 'em...i like 'em
i said, some believe that those ol' boys sure are hoary

and do you think that they're the oldest band around ?
i bet you think that they're the oldest rockers, you've found

lord knows, the rolling stones are old, but i like 'em
lord knows, the rolling stones are old, but i like 'em
lord knows, the rolling stones are old, but i like 'em
like 'em...yes i do
oh well, i like 'em...i like 'em...i like 'em

Good piece and with the bonus of offering further encouragement to us "oldsters" on the site. If you need more, well, your's truly (age 56) still plays a mean game of ping-pong and still plays basketball, and not all that bad either...guys half my age at work have told me I'm still pretty good and one of them wants me on his 3-man company team this winter (he's the best player here, too). Brag, brag, brag, that's all this old fart does...lol...of course some days I feel about 80 and that's not much fun, but it's not that often...OH...yeah....YOUR STUFF...heh..right...You ask if the Stones might be the oldest Rock band around still...I'd say "probably"...Who else might be...Well, "The Who" would be close, but I think they are a wee bit younger...and they are down 2 members, so it's not the same...Crosby, Stills & Nash are close in age, but they have had long periods where they did not produce anything together. I can't think of any others bands of that type of stature still almost completely together personnel-wise, still creating new songs and music and still touring...OH..5's for you here ~ ~ ~

This brings back memories because I bought this album, 30 years ago. Paul - If you want old rockers, there's that Beatle who shares your name, and who has finally reached the age of 64.

Son, when I was your age... they were already old. What a drag it is... Maybe this five will soothe your ego, if not their aching joints and muscles.
