Parody Song Title:
"If Brian May wrote "The Wreck of Edmund Fitzgerald""
The Lyrics
In the year of '75 loaded Big Fitz taconite
For the steel mills down at south
And the ship sailed out to the grey and misty lake
To feed blast furnace's hungry mouth
And night followed day and the weather forecast said
that a storm was on its way
Speed of forty knots or so, storm did hit that mighty boat
On that grim, and fateful day
Can't you hear me calling? I'm not many miles away
I am holding on my own -
But the freaky, breaky waves brought those brave men in their graves
The Mighty Fitz went down
In the year of '75 came a Fall storm out of blue
Ed Fitzgerald was on her way
But twenty thousand tons of ore never reached the Detroit port
29 souls were lost on that day
Lake Superior's waves of grey roamed and raged at Whitefish Bay
as she down to Detroit steered
And Big Fitz went down so fast on her voyage which was last
An SOS never heard
Can't you hear me calling? I'm not many miles away
I am holding on my own -
But the freaky, breaky waves brought those brave men in their graves
The Mighty Fitz went down
