Parody Song Title:

"39"

Parody Written by:

Ravyn Rant

This is my thirty-ninth submission. And it's for all of you.
When I'd posted 39 for the folks at AmIRight
I reviewed my notebooks few
Searching for some rhymes to make my submissions rise
Saddest sight that I'd seen
"Michael Weiss" lacked a verse, and "I Fight the Songs" was worse
And a full score more were shite
I went plowing through all the crap, searched for fragments I could wrap
Then sat back, had a beer, almost cried

Wish I could spend all my time writing parodies
Wish I could write more for you
If I had more time to rhyme, I'd post parodies sublime
Maybe I could impress even you

Now I've posted 39, got some catching up to do
I need to find some time to play
I'll sing to my shoes, and your girl so newly born
Maybe learn to live for today
For the times are pretty rough, and our lives are hard enough
Why not take some time to smile?
So I'll pick up pad and pen, start another song again
And let the world go away for a while

Wish I could spend all my time writing parodies
Wish I could write more for you
You bring laughter to my life and you cheer me with your fives
Hope to write
Till I'm dead
Wittily

I forgot the second chorus! My bad! It's the same as the first chorus, though, so you can just repeat that after the second verse. :)

DKTOS, but good stuff here, RR. I thought this was going to be about turning 39, heh heh. "If I had more time to rhyme"; after working on "Blinded By the Light" and "Without Me" I know that feeling.

I actually remember the OS--and this is a nice take on it. 5's!

Very clever, Ravyn - write down to the last word (I thought the "wittily" was the perfect substitution)

Thanks, Mason, Red Ant and Phil! Phil - I pretty much started this with the last three lines and worked my way backward.

People are so hung up on "BoRap" that they forget all the other great songs on "Night At the Opera", this being one. Nice idea.
