from the rock opera "The Pile of Bricks". After the dialogue of conversation overheard en route to the classroom, plus the ramblings of a Teacher trying to revive a sleepy overworked student, this is the inner thoughts of that sleepy overworked student at the end of his proverbial rope, for reasons which will become plain upon reading further.
[Oh my god, what a fabulous dress!! That sure is something!. Hehe, it's better than the one I bought last week at the Limited!...The test on the required material will be next week, and uh---AHEM! Mr. Smith...Hello, young man..Are you *with* us today?]
Day after day, the teachers all play
With our heads as best as they can
And night after night, we study all right
But I have grown wiser, the facts are much dumber
Than they were last year
Please, no more!
I can feel a spaz attack coming on
I feel cold as my school lunch
Dead as my lab froggie
My, aren't these similes fun?
Who really cares if an angle is obtuse or acute?
It's just one of those dumb facts!
[sound effects of crashes and bangs throughout song as the student rips through the classroom, ripping apart bookshelves, desks and the chalkboard on the Wall, to the dismay of the Teacher and the amusement of his students]
Who cares if a gerund's in a prepositional phrase?
Oh Heavenly days!
Who really needs to see quantum physics theory?
Or the attributes of a light ray?
Or Maslow's Hierarchy?
Care about elements in the sky?
Or the body parts of a fly?
Now let's talk about watts
Do you think I'm going nuts?
Get out of my life, Okayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy?
[the student runs out the door to parts unknown]
Day after day, the teachers all play
With our heads as best as they can
