Song Parodies -> Another Kick In The Balls
| Original Song Title: | "Another Brick In The Wall" |
| Original Performer: | Pink Floyd |
| Parody Song Title: | "Another Kick In The Balls" |
| Parody Written by: | Johnny D |
This parody is based on personal experience. In middle school I was a nerdy, geeky kid who the bullies and jocks would beat up on a regular basis. I finally decided to take back control of my life by enrolling in a karate school. When word got around that I was pursuing serious karate training, the bullies left me alone.
Tried to get an education
Jocks and bullies took control
In dark cor-ri-dors near the classroom
Bullies beat up nerds who'd groan
Hey!
Bullies!
Leave them nerds alone!
For us nerds it's just another kick in the balls
All us nerds would get another kick in the balls
Got mar-tial arts education
Planned to take back my control
Practiced karate in the dojo
Broke some boards instead of bones
HAH!
HY-YAH!
Im-a-gine they're bones!
Wore a cup in case I got a kick in the balls
Now bullies would face a nasty kick in the balls
Earned black belt with dedication
Now at school I'm in control
Jocks and bullies now know I'm ready
To fight back and break their bones
Hey!
Bullies!
Want a broken bone?
Or perhaps you'd like a simple kick in the balls?
Bullies never bothered me again in the halls!
Jocks and bullies took control
In dark cor-ri-dors near the classroom
Bullies beat up nerds who'd groan
Hey!
Bullies!
Leave them nerds alone!
For us nerds it's just another kick in the balls
All us nerds would get another kick in the balls

Good parody, Johnny. Now you can study without interuption. 5's
Well done, Johnny...5s from me.
Everyone is so shocked and horrified when a Columbine type incident happens, but you and know exactly how it happens. Jr High was a horrible experience when we were young drugs and guns and rap music weren't really at the forefront of media exposure. You're preaching to the choir. I hate this song and most of the parodies on it, but thanks for putting that message out. I may do one like it, and it won't be too funny either.
Thanks Adagio, Arwen, and Rick D.
Here comes Johnny In again, and he's breaking those boards.....
Man, does this ever bring back memories...
Boy does this one bust balls! I took out two bullies, one in jr high and one in high school. Word gets around and they simply bother someone else. Dad always told me to never start one but it was ok to finish one. The worst thing anyone ever used when I went to school was a chain. Where did the culture go? Nice parody JD.
In a way I can relate to this one: although I was always pretty nerdy, I was never really bullied (I learned to make people laugh at an early age), but I had some years karate under my belt by the time I became a prefect: it was perfect for chivvying the more recalcitrant of my, er, charges. It got to the stage that I'd stick my face in a class that was supposed to be empty, and someone else would do the emptying for me :-) All without laying a finger (or a foot) on anyone... even if they did feel the wind on occasion. The funniest thing is that with the control that karate taught me, I was pretty much unable to hurt anybody: I guess it's a self-confidence thing.
Billy and Aussie - thank you both!
Guy - thanks - yeah, same for me, word got around and I never got into a real fight after that, thank goodness!
Phil - I was a joker and clown, but there were always some bonehead jocks and bullies who didn't get the joke. And I agree with your assessment of the karate experience - I never really got into any kind of serious fight that required me to really make use of my skills (thank goodness!!!) ...... my Sensei did not allow us students to either (a) make full contact during sparring practice except for blocking techniques, nor did he (b) permit us to enter any kind of karate competition - he taught traditional, non-competitive karate. You are right - it's a confidence thing, for sure. Thanks for your vote and your comment.

Voted earlier, just coming back to the virtual beach to kick sand in your face and run away on the hopes that you weren't in track. Just kidding! I thought I left a comment, earlier, and obviously didn't, so... Nice job, sorry it was inspired by real events, but good for you that you found a positive, healthful, legal, non-destructive way of dealing with it.
Thank you, Melhi. Funny how something like being the target of bullying in school can lead someone to do something extremely positive in their life. My years of karate training were among the most enjoyable, empowering, and fun times of my life. Thanks for your positive feedback!
thats hilarious how its on tune and everything keep the parodies comming.
Everyone is bullied at some point in thier lives, it just happens. Just like everyone makes mistakes, everyone gets picked on, and everyone has somethign terribly embarrassing happen to them at some point in their lives. I think people, mostly kids, need to realize that before they go out and attempt revenge on the human race. Maybe my outlook on this whole situation is skewered a little bit. All throughout high school, I can only recall one situation in which a "geeky" kid got beat up, and that was actually by another "geeky" kid. The bullies spent all their time kicking the shit out of each other. I guess my whole point is that I think the whole nerd-bully thing is blown a little bit out of proportion sometimes, and that sometimes peole just need to suck it up a little bit and take their lumps. Eventually people grow up.
Enjoyed your parody, Johnny, and am happy to see that you took some positive steps to deal with a bad situation. My way out was to find musicians and other creative types who were out of the mainstream with whom I had more in common than some of those common bullies. This was also true for some of my friends who went through the same thing. The kids at Columbine and those who were responsible for similar tragedies did not have creative outlets (another reason to keep the arts in the schools!) and had neglectful parents. Yes, that bullies AND the nerdy types that they have picked on need help and support. However, there is a school of thought that victims bring the abuse on themselves, but it's just an excuse for bullies (and their parents) to avoid responsibility for their actions. Yeah, a lot of people are too sensitive, but the one message that advised that some people need to "suck it up" was from someone who did not see or experience this first hand. End of soapbox for the day.
Thank you funnygirl, TGK, and Mari D.
TGK - Yeah, eventually people do grow up, but I respectfully part company with you on your idea of taking one's lumps. Nobody, nerd or otherwise, should ever be expected to put up with stupid meaningless violence being perpetrated on their person. End of MY soapbox for now.
Mari D - Your own story here relates directly to the other side of my own story which I did not include in this parody's little tale - like you, Mari, I too found a community of creative, artistic types to hang out with and with whom I enjoyed acceptance and protection: actors and singers. I even went on to have a very short professional career as a dinner theater performer in later years. So I guess that all just goes to show that there's more than one positive, non-violent way to cope with these issues.
Gee, I am very moved by everbody's willingness to take the time to share so many thoughts and stories about these issues here - thanks, everyone - all of your comments are greatly appreciated!

Karlando sure didn't go to MY school. Karate did a lot for my situation too.
Thanks Steven - glad to hear it.

Thank you, funnygirl !
Missed this one as well! Wonderful!
Too funny, laughed quite a bit for this one!
what the hell?
wow, quite a conversation went on here, JD - I thought of this same parody title and went to check to see if anyone had done it, and sure enough, JD's scaled the mountain before me - and in a truthful, funny, real life way - I still might do my untruthful, unreal version though - great job, and now I know even more about you, having just watched your Shakespeare video on the MB as well (hard to imagine anyone bullying THAT dude ;-) ) - 555
Im a fan of pinkfloyd and also I would love to make a song cover of this for a pet rally in High school :p
Great job! One of the best funniest parodies I have ever heard! Let all nerds be encouraged and all bullies beware!
