Song Parodies -> "Parody Nation"

Original Song Title:

"Indian Reservation (The Lament of the Cherokee Res"

Original Performer:

Paul Revere & the Raiders

Parody Song Title:

"Parody Nation"

Parody Written by:

Warren Baker

The Lyrics

One of the first 45s I ever bought. (for the younguns out there, that is NOT a gun.)
Don't know the original? Paul Revere and the Raiders- Indian Reservation.
I have a weird music fixation
Lyrics need some transformation
Write the words of tune at night
I flip a song with a twisty write
To convey my way of fun
A rhyme filled grievance or a pun
And if the words you think are grand
Will surely make my head expand

Parody creature
Parody scribe
A song to rib
My rhymes applied

I love this whole lunar vocation
Substitutes, my adaptation
Though I’ve never made a dime
I find it ther’py for my mind

Parody creature
Parody scribe
I like to kid
With wry surprise

And maybe one day words I churn
Parody paycheck I will earn,
I will earn,
I will earn,
I will earn

I think you are speaking for all of us here. Whenever I hear a new song, my mind immediately starts to change the words. Sounds like that's what happens with you. This sums up the reason I keep writing. A great adaptation.

Inspired use of the OS, with absolutely perfect pacing. All this and so funny in that 'oh-my-god-I've been-there-too' way. Love this loads! 555

Thanks all for the nice comments. Feel free to assist me in my quest to make money off of my shenanigans and give generously to the "Warren Baker Parody Charity".
NOTE: Giving to the WBPC is not tax deductible, but it goes a long way toward providing hope for other writers out there who struggle daily to bring you riveting entertainment and insightful rhymifications while suffering the slings and arrows of outrageous and erroneous voting. You'll feel good. I'll feel good. And if you give a lot, I'll feel even better. It's your money. Spend it on me today. Thank you.

I know the group, but don't recall this original song, good to write a parody about a parody
