Song Parodies -> Korean Nation (The Lament of a Divided Korea)

Original Song Title:

"Indian Reservation"

Original Performer:

Paul Revere & the Raiders

Parody Song Title:

"Korean Nation (The Lament of a Divided Korea)"

Parody Written by:

Dylan Baranski

I was going to submit this one a few days ago, but the website was all fracased, so here it is now. Anyways, being that the original song was about the plight of the Cherokee Indians, so too is this one about the plight of a Korea divided in two. But one day, Korea will be united under democracy, and we can move on to other things. Enjoy the parody.
They took the whole Korean nation,
Split it up without reservation.

The DMZ was set well
Down at the 38th parallel.(1)

In the North, they’ve no free tongue,
And they teach hatred to the young.(2)

The North builds nukes with their own hands,
Points them at the South & Japan.

Korean people,
Korean pride,
Don’t want to fall,
Want to unite.

They took the whole Korean nation,
Split it up without reservation.

Though the country’s split in two,
They’ve much in common through and through.(3)

Korean people,
Korean pride,
Don’t want to fall,
Want to unite.

But someday the commies will learn
Korean nation will return…
Will return…
Will return…
Will return…
WILL RETURN!
Cultural Notes:

1-The Demilitarized Zone is a no-man's land between North & South Korea, and is at 38 degrees latitude (longitude is East & West).
2-As you may know, North Korea has no freedom of speech, but here's something else you may not know: People of North Korea are taught at a young age that America (and other so-called "Imperialists", for that matter) is the enemy.
3-I'm not sure how much, though.
