Parody Song Title:

"Holiday with SCA"

Parody Written by:

Susanna Viljanen

This song is dedicated to Medeltidssällskapet Styringheim, Visby, Sweden. Needless to say, I'm into history and re-enactment as well.
Seven months of hard work
with sewing machine -
Need a new tent and new dresses
and cooking pot for me
My lord made a pair of gauntlets
and a brand-new shield
Now we're ready to pack our pick-up
here we come, Snäck field!

Want you to come to Visby?
August is the date!
Middle Ages week in Gotland -
Holiday with SCA!

All around the Scandinavia
people gather there
Need to get the ferry tickets
pay the camping fare
Meet the friends of Nordmark and the
Aarnimetsä too
This is event we whole year waited
the Thing for me and you

Want you to come to Visby?
August is the date!
Middle Ages week in Gotland -
Holiday with SCA!

Visiting the Market on Sunday -
and Atterdag's parade
Doing heraldry on Monday
drining brew I made
Dining at Clematis on Tuesday
strolling through the town
Aarnimetsä court on Wednesday
come and hear the Crown -

Want you to come to Visby?
August is the date!
Middle Ages week in Gotland -
Holiday with SCA!

Finally, the Friday tourney.
My lord takes the field
I see him wearing oh, my colours,
he fights with sword and shield
In the evening is the party
feel the night at camp
illuminated by the lighting
of thousand torch and lamp -

Want you to come to Visby?
August is the date!
Middle Ages week in Gotland -
Holiday with SCA!

Packing up on Sunday morning
all will end things nice
Getting back to ferry harbour
heading Stockholm-wise
At the home we are on Monday,
and then back to work
Back all those things of mundane
- it is dull and jerk!

Want you to come to Visby?
August is the date!
Middle Ages week in Gotland -
Holiday with SCA!
Check out www.medeltidsveckan.se - Visby Middle Ages Week is the largest Medieval re-enactment event in Northern Europe, with some 5,000 participants. Perhaps I should re-word this song for Americans with referral to Pennsic?
