| Original Song Title: | "Me And You And A Dog Named Boo" |
| Original Performer: | Lobo |
| Parody Song Title: | "Me and You and a Junked-Out Dodge" |
| Parody Written by: | Darrell Wilhelm |
This is about what I think a road trip cross-country with Nadia (my girlfriend) and I in this 1978 Dodge Magnum that is in a junkyard near where I live, pulling a 36' travel trailer, in otherwords, not uneventful.
I remember to this day, three blocks from the repair shop
And how the Magnum was hard to push in the 100-degree heat
Willpower made that old car go
My girlfriend and an old hippie told me so
(Chorus)
Me and you and a junked-out Dodge
Travelin' and livin' in a Silver Streak
Me and you and a junked-out Dodge
How I hate payin' the garage man
I can still recall, the cornfields of Iowa
And the morning we broke down by a hog farm
Old MacDonald, he got us out, and then he told us where to go
A $150 carburetor, and back on the road again
(Chorus)
I'll never forget the day
The Dodge Magnum overheated in downtown LA
The geyser of steam and the gawkers lodged deep into my brain
But though it's only been a month or so, they say that the Magnum is good as new
What a bunch of bullcrap, we'll trade it in on a new Kia and go back home from there
(Chorus)
And how the Magnum was hard to push in the 100-degree heat
Willpower made that old car go
My girlfriend and an old hippie told me so
(Chorus)
Me and you and a junked-out Dodge
Travelin' and livin' in a Silver Streak
Me and you and a junked-out Dodge
How I hate payin' the garage man
I can still recall, the cornfields of Iowa
And the morning we broke down by a hog farm
Old MacDonald, he got us out, and then he told us where to go
A $150 carburetor, and back on the road again
(Chorus)
I'll never forget the day
The Dodge Magnum overheated in downtown LA
The geyser of steam and the gawkers lodged deep into my brain
But though it's only been a month or so, they say that the Magnum is good as new
What a bunch of bullcrap, we'll trade it in on a new Kia and go back home from there
(Chorus)

Great job, and great storytelling, here...especially the line" Geyser of steam and gawkers lodged deep in my brain"...Written like a Steinbeck novel..
This is for you Darrell-- I hate you, I hate this song along with "Delo Oil", I hate your f*cking hat and I hated that Dodge Magnum! I'm glad I broke up with you! ChuckyG, get this song off the web!
