Parody Written by:

The Lyrics

...part two of the 'green acres' parody...
with a dainty umbrella and a paris styled hat
city lovin'.....but country woman
missus, cool, rides out in her mate's cadillac
city lovin'.....but country woman

comely lisa takes a look about
her husband shows her around
city life's what her game is
but green acres is the place she's found

soil, so stony...soil, so stony...farmin's no thrill
city lovin'.....but country woman
and with "hots-cakes" made...it's even harder still
city lovin'.....but country woman

comely lisa...though she has her doubts
she'll still be hangin' around
we all know where this farm is
close to hooterville is where its found

growin' tall corn is how its s'posed to be
city lovin'.....but country woman
but this lawyer and his maid farm so mis'rably
city lovin'.....but country woman

(eb plays a harmonica solo)

nobody gets a single word she say
city lovin'.....but country woman
cause she's foreign soundin' in a slavic way
city lovin'.....but country woman

comely lisa...she won't leave this lout
and move on back into town
though this burg isn't famous
she is still in her armani gowns

city lovin'.....but country woman
city lovin'.....but country woman
city lovin'.....but country woman

A bucolic frolic.

Forget Lisa. For my money, Meredith MacRae put the hooters in Hooterville (and you've done a good job here of putting the hoots in Hooterville). :-)

Hey alvin...thanks for the last two days of Green Acres/Led Zeppelin. Great memories. The very first parody I ever wrote was for my kids' elementary school. The school was named "Green Acres" and they had a contest to write a school song. To this day they use it at school assemblies (although they dropped my writing credit)

IB, you should sue. Each public performance of the song you get residuals. (j/k)
