The Lyrics

Inspired by Bob Clark's film, "A Christmas Story".
Ho, ho ho-ohhhh--Santa wants to go, ho-ho
Santa wants to go, ho-ho, oh
Santa's got to go

Ai, ai, ai, aiiii--all those brats, they cry, aiiii, ai
My lap no longer dry, ai, ai ai!
10 minutes to go!

They think I'll stay a minute longer, between you 'n me
They can kiss my foot-foot-foot
This line of children up near me
Goes back as far as Ter-re Haute!
Oh, I can hardly wait to go
Santa's got to go
Oh, what's up with you?
Bring the next brat up, dude!

I, I, I,I , hate the smell of tap-i-oh-oh-ca
Seems that kid is slow ho-ho, yeahhh!
Time for him to go

Ai, ai aiiii, ai Santa feels so old, ho-ho, hohhh
What's that I smell, some mold? Ho-ho ho!
Hey Elves, make him go!

What do you want for Christmas, Ralphie?
Why do you stare like that?
Yes, how about a football, Ralphie
Would like that, that?
Oh no, now don't you dare pout
No, kid, you will shoot your eye out!

(guitar solo)

Ho-ho, ho, time for you to go, ho-ho, ho!
Santa Claus's show, ho, ho, ho, ho
Is closed now, cease, cease, cease, cease!
Wonder if Santa really knows
Ho, ho ho ho! Ho, ho-ho, ho!
Oh yes, oh yeah, he knows he knows!...

(Bye!) Ho-ho-ho, Merry Christmas folks, ho-ho!
(Bye!) Ho-ho-ho, Merry Christmas folks, ho-ho!...

(ad lib, ho-ho-ho, screaming children, etc.)

Oh, about the movie... I never understood why The Wicked Witch Of The West was there when she's obviously more likely to be there during Halloween. If anybody can shed any light on this, I'd be happy to know...

You'll see a number of other Oz characters roaming around in the parade, too. Considering the time the movie is set in, I would assume they are there to promote the MGM movie--makes sense for it to be marketed as a "holiday movie" but was it rereleased in the 40s?

It's been a long time since I saw "Christmas Story", but I can appreciate the work that went into this parody - great job on the ton of non-word vocals, Aggy - 5s.

Funn, Agri! Thanks for leaving the link in my ACS-themed parody. May the 555 fixtures plugged into that single outlet never blow a fuse to douse your magnificent leg lamp.

Ha! Poor ol' cranky Santa... Hard to blame him for being a bit disgruntled! Great job on this! :D

I saw the "Christmas Story" movie and it was MUCH better and more hilarious than the juvenile TV ad suggested. You also made made good use of a popular Led Zepellin hit. Also, your spoofy lyrics remind me a little bit of "Father Christmas" by the Kinks where a department store Santa has clocked out and is mobbed by unruly rough brats. I like this : )
