Original Song Title:

"My Favorite Things"

Original Performer:

Julie Andrews

Parody Song Title:

"My Favorite Things (as sung by Oscar, the Grouch)"

Parody Written by:

Bob Konigsberg

The Lyrics

Sewage and landfills and superfund waste-sites
Clouds of large locusts, with starvation crop blights
Thinking of plagues and the mis'ry they bring,
Any of them could be my favorite thing

Watching pollution destroy each bush and tree
Making it hard for asthmatics to breath free
Knowing that millions will die for their Kings,
These are a few of my favorite things

Kids growing up to become couch potatoes
Just like their Mom and Dad – That's the way weight goes
Trying to fold up the laundry that clings,
These are just some of my favorite things,

When the rose blooms,
When the child smiles,
When I'm feeling good,
I simply remember my favorite things
And become a grouch as I should!

A great dark twist on the original, 5s.

The Sound Of Music was a 60's musical; 70s is wrong. By the way, I think it's a well constructed parody, I like every line, and I will give you a perfect 5,5,5 vote on such a super-duper 60's parody!

I hated this parody! Now go away and never write another one! (That's Grouch Talk for, "I loved it! Now write some more!")

Thanks Stephen, Poopie, Rex, and Michael! Glad you all enjoyed it! Sorry about the flub; of course it was 60s; I must've boo-booed.
