I'll have the five-course meal, please. BTW, the British group Status Quo has an excellent version of this song.
I kind of like the Quo version, too.. this would have been even more fun, IMO if you'd done it Elmer Fuddian (The Wabbit's here the Wabbit's here, it's in the pot - Did I catch him, oww I did not. Here we go, wokkin' all over the wowd ...or something like that)
Funnily enough, I bought the Status Quo album as a C cassette as a child long before I even had heard about John Fogerty and CCR, and for a long time I considered the original as a Status Quo song. The song actually gave name to the whole Status Quo album. I am an avid fan of fusion kitchen, and the wok pot is one of the girl's best friends.
The Finnish musician Kari Peitsamo has done this song in Finnish, "Rokaten Ympäri Maailmaa" (yep, you guessed it,. "rocking all over the world").. Perhaps I should re-write it also as "Wokaten Ympäri Maailmaa"? I wonder if there are good ideas for a sushi parody, since we Finns have lately gotten hooked on sushi - this is one of the places of world where fish has traditionally been eaten both as raw and as prepared.
555 for this Susanna. PS- Not your cup of tea probably, but the first " Sushi " parody that came from the top of my head would be from Nirvana's " Rape Me ". Or perhaps " Suzy-Q " called " Sushi You ".
