Parody Song Title:

"Sunburn On My Shoulders"

Parody Written by:

The Lyrics

Having just returned from vacation in Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, I know that this is true! Ouch!
Sunburn on my shoulders makes me cranky.
Sunburn on my ears can make me cry.
Sunburn on my body looks so ugly.
Sunburn always makes me want to die.

If I could have started today over,
I would have used my sunscreen faithfully.
Even though it made my skin cold, I would try
To use the stuff because it'd protect me.

Now I'm screaming in my pain and torment.
I lay on the beach too long a time.
I thought I'd come away with a gorgeous tan,
But now I'm home and all I do is whine.

Sunshine without my sunscreen makes me whine,
"Ouch! That really hurts!"

Great parody. I can understand because I live in Vegas and have to put on sunscreen every time I walk out there.

Know What you mean, Tim. Here in Florida we buy it by the 55 galon drum. We paced , good & job Joelle!

Joelle, Nice "Midsummer's Lament" here. It's out of season for most of us on the North American Continent now (Elsewhere? I don't know; Aussie, Phil, anybody, where DOES the sun parch and torment it's worshippers this time of year? I'm mostly a "avoid too much sun" paleface anyway). Score here? My creaky old finger joints are still able to reach to the "5" key just above the "r" and "t" and supply enough impact 3 times to recognize your work here.

(ABC) So true, good one. I was at an outdoor Steve Winwood concert a few months ago, and didn't use good enough sunscreen, and got bad sunburn. Liked the parody.

S-Round: I remember laughing as I read this one when it was new and it's still funny!

Good parody, very good title. I relate to the second line because the ears are where I always forget to apply sunscreen.

An experience I understand all too well, having grown up in the South and lived through blazing summers with highs that made the thermometer displays at the bank malfunction. Fives all round!
