| Original Song Title: | "Sundown" |
| Original Performer: | Gordon Lightfoot |
| Parody Song Title: | "Bum Bound" |
| Parody Written by: | Jim Rotondo |
Yet another U.S. economic crisis themed parody.
I can see the jobless rate just hit 8.1,
In a country just run down by a Texas bum.
Bum bound, another job fair,
I’ve got 37 resumes and I don’t care.
Bum bound, another job fair,
I’ve got 37 youngin’s givin’ me bad stares.
He’d been voted president by mistake and then,
Started war with Iraq instead of Bin Laden.
Some nights I know he don’t sleep,
Knowing 70% of us thought he was a creep.
Some day his smirk will be gone,
But can still see his little 9/11 yawn.
Unemployment benefits are my only pay,
Till I finally get the call, “see you on Monday”.
Bum bound, another job fair,
I’ve got 37 resumes and I don’t care.
Some nights I know he’s awake
Thinkin’ 70% of us thought he was a fake.
I can see the USA coming back real strong,
With an honest president who really means no wrong.
Some day recession will cease,
And the stock market levels surely will increase.
Bum bound, it’s my last job fair,
Goin’ to work Monday morning, gonna keep it I swear.
Bum bound, we learn from mistakes,
Like the wheat and the chaff, the real deal from the fakes.
Some day depression will end,
When I cash my first paycheck cause I’m workin’ again.

Great song and title sub, Jim. Speaks VERY loudly on our troubled times...
great anthem for the times
Thanks very much guys, but this ISN'T funny! But I do appreciate your support.
Good parody - you must have had a lot of ree time with all of your submissions today. While the Ex set us down the road to ruin, the new guy is not doing much to help with the housing and unemployment. Carbon caps are the right way to go, but not when you're on a road to not having anyone in a house to use the cleaner energy (and at a higher pass through cost). Just my opinion, but liked your song - it is a sign of the times.
Thanks Timmy, very well spoken. I've got to admit, after 8 years of that mental midget, I would have voted for Otis Campbell of Mayberry.
