| Original Song Title: | "Rhinestone Cowboy" |
| Original Performer: | Glen Campbell |
| Parody Song Title: | "Drunk Stoned Cowboy" |
| Parody Written by: | James Squire |
For my Aussie mate Busty. In honour of a few lost weekends in your country.
He's been walking these streets so long
In his singlet stubbies and thongs
He knows every pub in the dirty sidewalks of (wherever)
He'll drink till he pickles his brain
And wake up sleeping in a gutter or drain
You know he thinks he's Casanova
But he's just a lecherous groper
Gets smacked down, but he's feeling no pain
CHORUS
He's a drunk stoned cowboy
Throwing up in the corner and piddling on his boots
He's a drunk stoned cowboy
Fly's hanging open, but he don't even have a clue
His willy's out there turning blue
He's never the one to blame
"I'm innocent, I been framed'
But the coppers all know his name down at the station
He's a two fisted son of a gun
When he's topped up full of Bundaberg rum
You know he says he's on the wagon
Then he grabs another flagon
He's gonna become just another drunken old bum
CHORUS
He's a drunk stoned cowboy
Throwing up in the corner and piddling on his boots
He's a drunk stoned cowboy
Fly's hanging open, but he don't even have a clue
His willy's out there turning blue
In his singlet stubbies and thongs
He knows every pub in the dirty sidewalks of (wherever)
He'll drink till he pickles his brain
And wake up sleeping in a gutter or drain
You know he thinks he's Casanova
But he's just a lecherous groper
Gets smacked down, but he's feeling no pain
CHORUS
He's a drunk stoned cowboy
Throwing up in the corner and piddling on his boots
He's a drunk stoned cowboy
Fly's hanging open, but he don't even have a clue
His willy's out there turning blue
He's never the one to blame
"I'm innocent, I been framed'
But the coppers all know his name down at the station
He's a two fisted son of a gun
When he's topped up full of Bundaberg rum
You know he says he's on the wagon
Then he grabs another flagon
He's gonna become just another drunken old bum
CHORUS
He's a drunk stoned cowboy
Throwing up in the corner and piddling on his boots
He's a drunk stoned cowboy

His willy's out there turning blue

Funny.
Especially poignant when one considers Glen Campbell's own problems with alcohol.
Bloody awsome parody mate!!! Pissed myself laughing, all 5s. I can tell you're an Aussie after reading the line "In his singlet stubbies and thongs", fantastic to see more Aussie parody writers on this site. As an Aussie myself, I've written a lot of Aussie related parodies, you can check them out here http://www.amiright.com/parody/authors/troy.shtml .
Who ARE you, Troy?
Thanks for the comments Troy. Nah, I'm not an Aussie, but I spent quite a few lost weekends in good old Aussie pubs and I know the kick the 'Bundy Bear' can give ya. If you like Aussie parody check out my mate 'Busty Brasierri' a parody singer from your parts. Her website is www.bustybrasierri.spiderweb.com.au She has a song or two on the radio - dunno. It's hard to keep up with her.
