Original Performer:

Elton John

Parody Song Title:

"Chunky Cat"

Parody Written by:

The Comedian

The Lyrics

When I cook cat
Boy, I must have fresh greens

Shopping in the city
Downtown in Beijing

Lookin' for some ginger
Tryin' to find some kale

An' then I saw the kitty sign,
Sayin'
"Feline Sale"

It said:
"Get fresh,
Chunky cat!
Fatter than cat from the woods!"

Well I
Said "Hooray!"
And I
Gladly paid

And-uh, hmm-hmm-hmm-hmm,
Ohhh - change I got back is so good!

You better
Get fresh,
Chunky cat!

Stray cats in the city ain't where it's at!

It's like
Tryin' to find meat
On a
Thin clothesline

It's like
Tryin' to eat kit-ty
Ohhh - from a doggy that whines

Well I
Read cook-books
And I read some magazines

About how
To cook stray cats
With ex-pensive greens

And all the
Chefs back home,
Well,
Said I was a fool

They said,
Ohhh - payin' a bit more, for fat cats is cool

They said:
"Get fresh,
Chunky cat!
Fatter than cat from the woods!"

Well I
Said "Hooray!"
And I
Gladly paid

And-uh, hoo-hoo-hoo-hoo,
Ohhh - change I got back is so good!

( instrumental interlude )

They said:
"Get fresh,
Chunky cat!
Fatter than cat from the woods!"

Well I
Said "Hooray!"
And I
Gladly paid

And-uh, huh-huh-huh-hah,
Ohhh - change I got back is so good!

They said
Cook at home
Boy where you can raise your ca-a-a-ats

Cookin' in the city, boy you're,
You're gonna cook with rats

But
I'd rather pay,
For some,
Meat that's fresh!

And how -

- how can my wok,
Send your
Meal cat flesh?

They said:
"Get fresh,
Chunky cat!
Fatter than cat from the woods!"

Well I
Like the way
That fresh
Cat filets

And-uh, hoo-hoo-hoo-hoo,
No-o-o mange is on these cats, they're good!

You better
Get fresh,
Chunky cat!

Stray cats in the city ain't where it's at!

It's like
Tryin' to find meat
On a
Thin clothesline

It's like
Tryin' to eat kit-ty
Ohhh - from a doggy that whines

Whoah, yes!

Get fresh
Chunky cat!
Get fresh
Chunky cat!
Get fresh
Woooooooo!

Get fresh
Chunky cat!
Get fresh
Chunky cat!
Get fresh
Woooooooo!

( instrumental interlude )

Ahhhhhhhh -

Get fresh
Chunky cat!
Get
Fresh
Get fresh, chunky cat ah-wooooooo!

Ahhhh, yeah!

Thanks Jack, Adagio, and Red Neck Mother!

People in China traditionally raise livestock & eat livestock of various kinds that appear unusual to Westerners, such as felines and canines. It's just part of the Chinese culinary tradition.....not my cup of tea, but apparently it's been China's cup of tea for about 5,000 years or so!

555. This is very clever, the best cat-eating parody I have seen since" THE CAT'S IN THE LADLE AT THE PEKING MOON ", which I saw performed in a bar several years ago by a man whose name I don't remember.

Johnny D - Well this parody sure puts the term "Cat Food" under a new light. This one's a real delicacy; You carved each morsel to perfect size to saute this one up just right, no stray syllables or thoughts in this, and then you "Wokked" your usual warped Parody Magic from the nub of chubby kitty's nose all the way to tip of his tiger-striped tail...I pause and award you 5 "Paws" on all four feline feet, although the scoring set-up here only allows us to use three of them...

Thanks Judge judy!

One of my brothers-in-law sent me a link to a website that has a recorded performance of " THE CAT'S IN THE LADLE AT THE PEKING MOON " along with an animated cartoon that plays along with the music .... it was at:

http://www.elfrigo.org/

At that website, click the link on the left called "Flash" and then the link called "Chinese Food Song".

I checked today, and that "Chinese Food Song" link now says "Under Construction" .... it used to be there.... I hope it returns soon, it's hilarious!

Alvin and Agrimorfee - thank you both, very much ..... I guess this parody kind of fits-in with the various parodies of "Eye Of The Tiger" that are posted on Amiright..... maybe the eye of the tiger would be a gourmet delicacy for those who dine on fine feline .......

Pretty good parody. However, the Chinese don't cook either cats or dogs for food. It's just an urban legend. Koreans, however, did eat dogs but because of international pressure, they have long abandonded the practice. Check this site for more info: http://www.snopes.com/horrors/food/chinese.htm
