The Lyrics

no use for all those homely gnomes, you know
what a dreadful sight
i'd weave...to hit those rascals on the road
i hate to see those dwarves...cause they look so glum
and they act so strange
and midgets make me bored...they ain't no fun

but i do believe that santa's elves are appealin'
toys they make...in santa's store...then they get bagged
santa's eves are gleeful...though just knee-high to a man
when it is christmas time...these laddies...are so grand

oh santa's elves are appealin'
tiny, be...i love 'em...they're alright
yeah, these guys are so fun, its sublime
nice and slight...nice and slight
bring delight...how they bring delight !
santa's elves are appealin'
you know i love 'em...they're so cute !

they're amusin'...quite unlike...those vile ol' gnomes
these elves are cool and witty
like brothers...they all live in santa's home
makin' toys is easy when there's teamwork applied
do the job, they will
we need 'em...bless me...cause its christmas time

and i do believe that santa's elves are appealin'
toys they make...in santa's store...then they get bagged
santa's eves are gleeful...though just knee-high to a man
when it is christmas time...these laddies...are so grand

oh santa's elves are appealin'
tiny, be...i love 'em...they're alright
yeah, these guys are so fun, its sublime
nice and slight...nice and slight
bring delight...how they bring delight !
santa's elves are appealin'
you know i love 'em...they're so cute !

Great spoofs come with small 'packages'! (and you've highlighted why you'll never hear it called Philthyelfia...)

They should get together with the Seven Dwarves so they can bring us some real presents.

It's nice to see Santa's elves working in full swing! Your parody also reminds me of those Christmas movies that I've watched such as The Santa Clause, A Christmas Story, Bad Santa, and The Polar Express. I've yet to see Elf, and Fred Claus. Anywho, three of Santa's Elves each grant you 5's for your fun-loving parody!

Yeah, Santa's elves are cute, although I can say that I've never seen them, so I just assume that they are. Great parody, by the way, and these 5s are for you!

I know this is kind of off the topic, Alvin, but was your cat named after you, or as a pun on "alley cat"? I'd like to know, and yeah, I've seen Santa's elves in illustrations and movies, but never in person. They look a lot like the Roaming Gnome from Travelocity commercials.
alvin - December 21, 2008 - Report this comment
allie is a combination of the pun "alley cat" as well as a tribute to my late mother who was named "alma" but who everyone called "ernie" because her middle name was "ernestine"
