Parody Song Title:

"Pinkish Elephants Creepin'"

Parody Written by:

Alvin Rhodes

i used to be OK when stoned...you know
fine when i was tight
but now...i find i'm antsy in that mode
i used to drink a quart and not come undone
but those times have changed
i feel dismay...the high just ain't as fun

cause i start to see those pinkish elephants creepin'
from the day they first were formed, its been a drag
pinkish elephants creepin'...means i'm too high...this is bad
is it in my mind ?...could i be...goin' mad ?

oh...pinkish elephants creepin'
wind by me...they trumpet...all their might
are my eyes goin' wrong...or my mind ?
this ain't right...what a sight
late at night...i'm gettin' such a fright
pinkish elephants creepin'
you know i loathe you...yes, i do

if you choose to, you can leave the booze alone
it only makes one giddy
some others...choose to get supremely stoned
i like drinkin' whisky...till i get pulverized
but a bellyfull of squeezin's zaps me
can't believe my eyes

cause i start to see those pinkish elephants creepin'
from the day they first were formed, its been a drag
pinkish elephants creepin'...means i'm too high...this is bad
is it in my mind ?...could i be...goin' mad ?

oh...pinkish elephants creepin'
wind by me...they trumpet...all their might
are my eyes goin' wrong...or my mind ?
this ain't right...what a sight
late at night...i'm gettin' such a fright
pinkish elephants creepin'
you know i loathe you...yes, i do

pinkish elephants creepin'
you know i loathe you...yes, i do
pinkish elephants creepin'
you know i loathe you...yes, i do
pinkish elephants creepin'
you know i loathe you...yes, i do

Ya' gotta' steer clear of those pink drinks, alvin...that could be the problem...a very funny romp thru a buzzed brain, here...almost makes it sound like great fun to get stoned..and well, I guess it is, but oh, the afterwards..

Where is Tarzan when you need him? One ape yell and they all scoot off somewhere. Leave the drinks alone and the pachyderm will stay behind the couch where they belong, you old drunk, you.

What a toot, what a hoot! Easily my favorite sing-along this morning. Puts me in mind of a very surreal, almost scary multicolored elephant parade sequence in one of those TV Dr. Seuss things, tho' precisely which which one eludes my memory just at the moment. :-)
