Parody Song Title:

"Silda Wall's Husband"

Parody Written by:

The Lyrics

Silda Wall’s husband says
Silda’s too busy
At raising our children for me.
Silda Wall’s husband says
She stays at home now,
Not using her law school degree.
Silda Wall’s husband says
Silda’s enjoying
Her work for her charity for free.
And the operator says
Four G’s more for the next four hours…

Please, little Kristen, I just gotta be with you.
I’ll only keep you a while.
Please, little Kristen, I just gotta see you tonight!

Silda Wall’s husband says
We just have daughters.
She’s too old to give me a son.
Silda Wall’s husband says,
Not that I’m asking
For you now to go give me one.
Silda Wall’s husband says,
Yet something drives me
To keep this “unsafe” till we’re done.
And the operator says
Four G’s more for the next four hours…

Please, little Kristen, I just gotta be with you.
I’ll only keep you a while.
Please, little Kristen, I just gotta see you tonight!

Silda Wall’s husband says
Silda’s embarrassed
As this scandal spreads ‘cross the land.
Silda Wall’s husband says
Silda is furious.
She’d cut off my junk if she can.
And Silda Wall’s husband says
Silda is stoic
As she’s playing Stand By Your Man.
And the operator says
Four G’s more for the next four hours…

Please, little Kristen, I just gotta be with you.
I’ll only keep you a while.
Please, little Kristen, I just gotta see you tonight!

Please, Mrs. Spitzer, I just gotta plead with you.
I only strayed for a while.
Please, Mrs. Spitzer, just don’t go and tell me goodbye!

Don’t say goodbye!
Don’t say goodbye…!
Surprisingly, the original song was written by humorist Shel Silverstein, as a parody of teen breakup songs--yet the song is based upon a real incident between Shel and his ex-girlfriend's mother. I added a chorus.

Loved the 4 G's more ref - extremely well written, Melanie.

All 5s for a very well-written and refreshingly different approach to a topic that could use a breather. Extra credit for so precisely echoing the OS's mood. :-)

I had no idea Shel wrote the original. Good thing it was written then, or he'd be called "emo" now. I kind of had the same idea with "Stacy's Hot Mother," but this has the added boost of being topical. And it won't even cost either one of us 5 cents, let alone 555 dollars! Or 976 dollars, or 4,300, or whatever.
