The Lyrics

As we enter the last day budget deadline, the House measure now passes to the Senate for a quick vote and then off to Obama to sign. This entire ordeal was unnecessary from the beginning and put the American people through sheer hell this last week. It had everyone from Middle Class America to the Rich, Wall St. to foreign markets, and from REPs to DEMs singing the blues... how pitiful the US must look to the world.
Come and vote on our floor
America’s been waiting on you
Where the votes are DEMs and REPs and INs
Budget default, blues!

Come and vote on our floor
We’re all counting on you
You’re voting at last for legislation to pass
Budget default, blues!

We'll see if America can spend again and
HOW, on-WHAT, and WHEN?
All of this made the news,
Budget default, blues!

Nice parody, 555! :-), I already mentioned on your last parody, "Arena" I think it was, about losing my SSI, welfare, and food stamps, if a decision was not made by yesterday, which is now today. Is this true? Or am I being misinformed?

WCJ, even if a default were to occur, then the Treasury would make the decisions on which bills to pay or not. Entitlements come first, then interest on the debt, and then bills in that order. I think your entitlements as well as mine (SSA) would go out no matter what, just like soldier pay. There would be riots and violence if suddenly 70+ million wouldn't be able to live. Don't worry about it.
