Float Of Many Bubbas
Not long ago
I went down to Tennessee
Back to the place where I was raised
And I arrived there on the Day of Independence
And I went into town…and was amazed
There were many different Bubbas
Formin’ in a line
And then they went marchin’ by
All totin’ guns…and drinkin’ ‘shine
As I tried to move-in closer
Out in front of that brigade
I saw…a float of many Bubbas
Was leadin’ that parade
They all were standin’ on a flatbed
And I saw my nephew…Jedd
Up on this float of many Bubbas
Crushin’ beer cans on his head
A Redneck Choir was singin’
Songs from the Civil War
But I just couldn’t really see them
With those white sheets…that they all wore
This float of many Bubbas
Had a special NASCAR block
All good lookin’ guys
But dumb as a bag of rocks
The Gatlin Boys came callin’…
By exposin’ Becky’s gems
They shocked that float of many Bubbas
‘Cuz “there was three of them”
Then the cousins started kissin’
It was anything but mild…
On this float of many Bubbas
Was “Southern Girls Gone Wild”
And some blind kid playin’ banjo
A pale-white ghostly youth
From this float of many Bubbas
Smiled…showing off his tooth
Woaah… The Hatfield twins were wavin’
While leanin’ on a log
I wasn’t sure what they were doin’
But one was squealin’ like a hog
And then the Hometown Queen was dancin’
“Daisy Dukes”…held-up with twine
And from that float of many Bubbas
We saw…where the sun don’t shine
Next to the pageant winner
There…Bill Clinton* stood with ease
‘Guess she felt the holy spirit
‘Cuz she fell down on her knees
Yes, it’s true I’ve been ‘a roamin’
But now some things are understood
You see…that float of many Bubbas
I’m takin’ home for good
…To Dollywood

I reckon this is a great redneck parody! And for the perfect artist to boot. (I'm also surprised that you made it through the entire song without mentioning double d's seeing that who you're mocking is Dolly Parton, and if there's one thing Dolly's known for it's having boobs). Although you did mention that line about Becky's gems.
Fantastic imagery I.B.! Nice story progression with many top-notch funny lines ("...showing off his tooth" my fave). And with a Dolly OS, sportin' Jessica Simpson visuals, it just *couldn't* fall, er, flat!
hilarious mental imagery...bravo
Southern soul with sophistication...great job
Hooray for Dollywood ! . . . . Parody about dear Dolly is always worth 5's !
Thanks...Matthias, TJC, alvin, AFW and UKV.
BTW...in the second to last verse, you could also use "Old Yeller"...

Bubba booey... 5-5-5
I'm still loving this one. You've got this redneck's approval, even Jeff Foxworthy would be jealous of these redneck jokes.
Good
(Artistry) Another original winner from IB..granted, it kind of lost something during the "Coward of The Country" reference, but you turned Dolly's beautiful song over on its sincere head, and that is what counts the most!
(Artistry) I guess I don't appreciate a "parade" of redneck jokes quite as much as the others, particularly the "white sheets". It is well paced/written, and I did like the inclusion of the "Coward of the County" lines.
(Artistry) Er, this one kinda confused me. Redneck parodies tend to do that. Seeing as I have no idea what a Bubba actually IS, there's just no hope for me.
This one had some lines that were just hard not to laugh at, despite it being in very poor taste. The "Smiling, showing of One Tooth", wow, or the KKK reference--ha, I always like seeing the KKK get swiped at, they earned it. Cousins, Southern Girls Gone Wild etc--very cool. I did have an issue with the "Bill Clinton" reference, as he was anything but your typical character referenced in this song. Didn't get that I guess, and like with what I said on TCOP's parody, when listening to a song, you can't see asterik stuff at the end, as a recording artist I do tend to point out that while the information is useful, as a listener I'd only hear "Bill Clinton", I've used asteriks in the past but only for things that were info the reader may want to know more about, not necessities to the song. It lost a lot bringing in Bill Clinton to me, but it was hilarious for what was there.
(Artistry) My formative years in South Carolina make me uniquely qualified to appreciate this parody. And Dave, if you Google "Bill Clinton" and "Bubba" you'll see that Bill has been a Bubba for a looooong time.
