The Lyrics

for all my fellow sandwich cookie lovers out there! of course I personally prefer the Great Value (Walmart Brand) Twist & Shouts to real Oreos... and then of course there's Hydrox cookies which I only very recently heard about thanks to Rob Arndt! hey Rob I hope your Hydrox search is going better than mine!
while on a shopping trip at the grocers
deep in the aisle of the bread-based snacks
I wanted cookies that taste mighty fine
saw some Nabisco and I felt my lips smack
standing in a long long line at register four
checked my wallet fell to my knees and cried "why?"
I was a couple quarters short just had a buck
Obama wanted change? well so did I!

I'm just a chubby boy
I am in love with them
I asked the guy behind me to lend a hand
he said "shut up!"
rolled his eyes sighed bad breath
I said "go eat some Mentos greedy garlic man"
I took a shot and searched the pockets of my blue jeans
I searched the ground for some loose change people had dropped
I got a view of a girl's dress from underneath
I said "whoops!"
she said "I'm calling the cops"

a little after nine I was real hungry
I went to Dairy Queen for something to eat
I wanted a Blizzard was in a pickle
the machine was broken so no-go on the treat
I had just figured homemade's better than none at all
I bought a bag of Oreos and ice cream two quarts
I thought I was gonna have dessert after all
but I dropped it and it melted all over the floor

girl took me home with her we'd just had dinner
she offered me Jello if I thought I was ready
I started looking around maybe she kept 'em cold
but all I found in her fridge was some spaghetti
I searched and I searched her house all night
she said she forgot cookies at the store
I found a pack under her couch
she hid them and now you know it's war!

while on a shopping trip at the grocers
deep in the aisle of the bread-based snacks
I wanted cookies that taste mighty fine
saw some Nabisco and I felt my lips smack

saw some Nabisco and I felt my lips smack
saw some Nabisco and I felt my lips smack
thanks for reading! now go and have a nice Twist & Shout sandwich cookie for me! or maybe a Hydrox for those of you having better luck finding the things than Rob & I are...

555 dips in milk! And no, Jon... nothing on Leaf Brand Hydrox. Sad thing is that the facility making them is right here in California! Interesting history is that Hydrox came out first before Oreos! I think it was America's first sandwich cookie...

^ yes after you mentioned them I did a Google Search on Hydrox Cookies and saw them referred to as the "Original Sandwich Cookie" shame that they seem to be so difficult to find as I'm curious now! oh well Walmart's Twist & Shouts are always good! thanks for the 5's man!

Hey Jon, don't know if you like Hostess Cupcakes or not but Walmart usually has the boxes for $2.50-3.00 for 8 cupcakes. I used to like the orange cupcakes, but they now carry strawberry and red velvet!!! The last are limited time only! Excellent with a tall glass of cold milk...

Fun fact: Hydrox cookies go back as far as 1908! They were made by the Sunshine Biscuit Company while latter Oreos were made by the National Biscuit Co which morphed into Nabisco!
