The Lyrics

Well, just heard on the radio that David Crosby got himself busted AGAIN. This time in New York City with, guess what? A POUND OF POT AND A .45 GUN! Now the pot, well, I could cut him some slack there; I gave it up years ago (makes me completely disoriented), but I don't think it's that big a deal as long as you don't drive behind it. But the gun? Come on, man! The guy's got big-time priors and I think he's still on probation in freakin' TEXAS. I'm sure the Texas folks on this site can tell you that the law there isn't anything to fool with. Anyway, from CSNY's 2nd album title track:
Since I have already done this before
You might think that I am a fool
Don't you?

Since I have already done this before
I've got priors so now I feel
This time I'm screwed

Yes, for real.....
Yes, I did this before
It's real.....
That I did this before

So I know
You probably wonder
What f*uckin' wrong
oh...wonder
in my head
Ooh, ooh, ooh
ooooh, ooh, ooh, ohh
(Guess you know
It's a blunder)

Now

(La-da-da-da, da-da-da-da, da-da-da-da)

(Had a pound, and a gun there
What else is wrong
In your head?)

(Crosby has been here before)
(Crosby has been here before)
(Crosby has been here before)

I saw that same article and wondered what to write about it. No need now, this says it all very well. And you're right about the laws here in texas, they are more liberal now but in the early seventies someone did a study, and if you were busted on the street corner for possession of a single joint in Dallas, you would serve three years LESS in jail if you killed the cop instead of a marijuana bust..... Avg time served for murder was 7 years compared to 10 tears for possession of a single joint. 555

Paul Wooten - Yes, Crosby was very fortunate in the earlier go-'round with Texas law in that he was able to get release after he had cleaned himself up. The pot wouldn't be a big concern to me (even though he really should probably cool it), but the guns are and indication that whatever demons and/or paranoia Crosby's suffered from in the past have not completely gone away. I hope for the best for him - a very talented, big-hearted guy. Johnny D & Alvin R - I think we are all hoping for the best, I don't believe Crosby belongs in the slammer, but he needs to put away the guns at the very least. This is the first time all day I was able to access the site, don't know whether it was the site server, my Internet Access folks or my PC, although I was able to access lyric and other sites without a problem.

Well, jeez...I didn't notice it but this is officially my 50TH parody post here on "amiright.com". I had two others this last week that aren't on my Author's page or total, one due to my own negligence in editing "Every Day (I'm A Gettin' Older; I typed "ii" in my last name so it came out "Robiinson" and failed to notice it while I was "fine-tooth" combing my lyric text,. I also somehow got an extra space after my last name on "Marry Don, My Eldest Son". That one you CANNOT see when looking at the Editing Preview mode and I feel a tiny bit gypped there. (Gripe...gripe)...That one oughta be moved without penalizing my votes/comments if it is possible. The other is my fault and I have to decide if I want to repost and lose all the votes & comments on the original...(I guess I can copy and paste them into a Word Doc. on my computer if I'm really that obsessed with retaining them. Still, a lot of folks took the time and trouble to vote and make nice comments and I WOULD like those to still exist SOMEWHERE...Thanks again, all...Hope Crosby isn't crack-pipin' or anything like that and that he has a good explanation for having that gun (Not legal in NY City as far as I know).

Don't worry too much about the missing parodies from your author page, it will get corrected eventually. I'm just insanely busy this month, and I'm having a hard time finding the time to make those types of changes. I did try and filter out the problems with spaces at the end of author names, but I'm not sure if it worked.

ChuckyG - Thank you! Sorry to whine so much, I really do appreciate how much work it must take to maintain the site, not to mention all the little improvements that you make from time to time. I'll be patient, I just wasn't sure if you were aware of that "space after" issue. pr

Congrats on turning "50"! Good job! Bummer, though. Great choice of song, especially since ol' Dave must be having a deja vu!

Mari D - Thanks! Hope that Crosby is able to "Carry On" on the OUTSIDE.
