The Lyrics

PLEASE VOTE AND COMMENT ON THIS VERSION. THE OTHER HAS A SMALL ERROR IN THE FIRST VERSE THAT HAS BEEN CORRECTED ON THIS ONE. THANKS...OK, now that I've gotten that out of the way, this is another entry in my "Crosby Cooks" parody project that I think you will enjoy...
(Brief steel guitar intro)

that is on the stove
it does not bode
all that well for us

Dave cooks so bad
Each meal we have
does cause us to cuss

don't taste too swell
They're not made well
Of this I don't lie
You eat
and then you heave
You'll be so sick
it will make you cry

Crosby is a real cool guy
but his cooking; ay-yi-yi
he put live birds in a pie
and one bit Stephen

{During instrumental - On Steel guitar notes here}
("Ow, ow, ow, ow, ow" etc.)

Then Steve
after several beers
he snarled and sneered
then let his beer can fly

Then that beer can
did hit Dave's head
Here's what he said
"Hey, knock that off, guy"

'round here are Hell
they don't go well
when we're all too high
Chipped beef
on LSD
worse than it seems
You never should try

And when David serves the pie
Steve Stills looks him in the eye
Dave just shrugs, then with a smile
says, "Stick your thumb in"

{On steel guitar notes to end}
("Ow, ow, ow, ow", etc)

"...he put live birds in a pie and one bit Stephen"! funny, and an OS that I do remember well. Great job here Paul.

Ohhh man, loved it! And I like how you stuck a thumb-reference in there too! I could hear the boys singin' this parody in my mind's ear, harmonies and all.

Yeah, this one was tons of fun to write (and sing), too. It's really great to work with CSN(& Y) songs for me because their personal styles and a little of their personal histories have been lurking out there if you pay attention - not "tabloid" style (except for some of Crosby's escapades), but their general personality traits...Thanks, guys...glad you enjoyed it. Should have at least one more of the remaining pieces from the "Deja vu" album up tomorrow...I hope...still not sure directionally on what I have left, couple ways I might go.
