The Lyrics

You either love 'em or hate 'em. I don't think there is an in between. Either way, this will likely bring some vivid images to mind . . .
Well, take me back down where chicken grease flows, yeah.
Let me remember foods I love,
Droolin' like a hog to take a bite,
Eat em' drivin' down road at night,
Cripsy nuggets fried up just-right.

I can hear the dinner bell callin' me.
Wonder if my stomach can take all the grease.
Love to lick my fingers and feel my mouth water.
Deepfry, panfry, and-a-smack-a-your mother.

Fry up a big lott, gimmie some, chicken livers.
Welllllll!

Eat 'em at camp and spend my days, oh,
With a flat of nuggets and cole slaw Walter
chicken grease has done took me over,
Said, "you're gonna find the liv-ers are smouthered.
And if you get hungry, just munch-on, chicken livers."

Welllllll!
Fried at home!

While Growing up in the South, we learn to try, and like all sorts of foods. I recall fried chicken livers being sold at the local fried chicken outet in Tampa. Yes, I like them too!

See, there's the part you eat and the part you throw away...I'm sorry, but I bet you could deep-fry slugs and they'd be just as tasty. Good parody though

Yep, like I said: there's no middle ground. Most folks either love 'em dearly or cringe and the very thought. I love 'em cut up small, crispy fried with rice, cole slaw and fresh cucumbers from my garden. Add a pone of cornbread and, oh, it's heavan! --Ol' JB

PS: But let's leave the slug eatin' to the french. They'd dissolve if you tried to fry 'em anyhow . . . both the slugs and the french. --Ol' JB

Seems like a winner of a menu, John...I could really even imagine it for breakfast. And hehe on the slog and French remark.

Ya' know Pat? Now that you mention it, I have had them for breakfast. Not the above described meal but chicken livers, eggs, buttermilk biscuits from scratch and gravy made from the chicken liver drippin's. Tell, you what, if you were to put a plate of this breakfast on a chiken liver lover's head and tied their hands down, their eyes would swell up and turn blue and their nose would start to bleed -- 'cause their tounge would nearly slap their brains out tryin' to get to it! --Ol' JB

So funny, Ol' JB!! Yea, now I want to go to the store and stock up. Got some livers to send through the monitor?
